Is it not the same as other MBs? So basically push the brake pedal harder while you are at a complete stop.

I know it's a one in a million possibility, but it wasn't ANY possibility with the old style handles. The new handles are not good, not an "improvement" and should never have been done.
They're a bad design, but thats not really the reason why. They just provide no benefit over real door handles and only frustration, thats the real reason why.

I also pointed out my frustration, and that there does not seem to be a benefit other then to keep up with Tesla. When I went in for a software recall/update, I also complained that sometimes they don't extent when approaching, or extend when swiping. Since the general update, it seems they work better, but I don't know if the update had anything to do with it. Also the dealer said they were advised instead of swiping the handle to extend it, that you place your 3 middle fingers on the center of the handle and wait for it to extend. I tried it and it seems much more consistent. It seems (to me) that the car's computer has to "react" to the action, and maybe doesn't react fast enough while swiping, but if you place your 3 fingers on the handle, it could be immediate, but if not your fingers will remain in place until the computers signal them to open. I am using that method now and find it works better.

Interesting. My dealer told me to touch the handle with my right index finger and my left pinky finger. Then, to swipe across, while reciting "Mary had a little lamb." Why couldn't they leave well enough PERFECT alone??? After owning 60 brand new cars and 32 used ones, WHY must I have to learn how to open the door on this one?

Just like on every Mercedes since W211 (perhaps a bit later in the US)? Brake the car to stop and quick press the pedal a bit harder and release.

Some things just can't be improved with technology IMO, and door handles are one of those things lol

Stream, you made me snort my coffee with your 'Mary had a little lamb' plea. Still giggling. Maybe rub your head, pat your stomach and stand on one foot would work on the passenger side. Too funny.

I tried that and it didn't work. Does it matter which foot?

To get brake HOLD function to deploy, do not remove your foot off the brake peddle after a regular stop, then you have to "stab" (with a fast motion) the brake peddle further down with you foot after you have made a regular stop. Works every time.

Really? I use it all the time. Do you play golf? Press in on the brake like setting the park brake on a golf cart.

Thanks Sleeper and SW20! I approached the brake pedal like I do the golf cart and it worked over and over again. Key thing (that I was doing wrong prior to your sage advice) was removing my foot off the brake pedal then punching it down. Thanks again!!

2022 S500
We have a 2022 S500 and JUST noticed this in the glove box. Does my transponder need to be put in the round thing next to it?

The round thing? What round thing there is only a square box that is the built in toll transponder, the number specifies the amount of people and to activate I believe you need to call in https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ml#post8401049, the only round thing I could think of is the fragrance canister for the air balance package .

Turns out you activate via Mercedes Me and service is provided by Payviam in the USA: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ml#post8464349
