I played with the online configurator, but can't quite figure out which one it is; none in that section appears close.

I think it is Graphite Grey metallic or Selenite Grey metallic. Hard to differentiate looking at the picture

no, they are much darker and don’t have that bronze undertone. Definitely Mojave silver.

Would be killer with the brown interior. Mine is cirrus silver with beige interior, which I also like. But I am tempted in a couple of years to get that color combo. We'll see how the facelift goes too.

I test drove a Mojave with Sienna Brown. Wasn’t a big fan of the color combination. I definitely like your cirrus silver much more than mojave!

Good heavens, no. I much prefer the original 20" Y-multispoke.

I have Mojave Silver with Sienna Brown Exclusive Leather and is absolutely gorgeous even if I say so myself. I constantly get compliments. I initially wanted the High Tech/Cirrus Silver but was afraid since it was the color on many launch ads and didn’t want one with many others on the road. Having said that, I can’t believe the number of black and white ones every time I spot one. People aren’t bothered pulling up next to 2/3/ or 4 other black or whites? Sorry for pissing a few people off,,,just my personal opinion.

I get what you mean about not wanting to be one of many on the road in the same car color. Interestingly though, and I live in South Florida, I am hardly seeing any W223s, whereas W222s were everywhere right after their launch. Then again, I am generally seeing fewer sedans since SUVs and trucks are all the rage. Heck I myself had an early reservation for the Cybertruck but was concerned about not being able to fit in my garage so I canceled it.

Agree, Cirrus on the S is very classic. Mojave can be a fickle color. I find it looks good on some cars but not on others, and it must be very carefully spec'd too. Not sure it'd work as well on an S-Class with all its chrome, I did however see Mojave on a GLE with AMG-Line and Night Package and it worked nicely.

Mojave reminds me of a Lexus color, Atomic Silver which is very model dependent too.

Cirrus silver is a very nice color, which can be attested by the fact the MB used it in many of its new S class ads. Still I don’t want a color that many others have. And don’t get me started on the NUMEROUS black or white new S classes that practically everyone and their mother has. Whatever happened to the sense of exclusivity and settling for a “run of the mill color?” Apologies to all the white and black S class owners. Have a feeling I’m gonna get flamed.

The colour should be Mojave Silver. I bet this pic was taken either in early morning or late afternoon when the sun shined on with an angle, making that reflection tricky.
The rear bumper lower portion should be more indicative of the true colour.
When you use the Configurator (choose the 360-degree view and the 'moon' view, which actually more like an late afternoon view), you should see similar colour.

Ha ha...you wont get flamed by me. Mine is neither white or black but High-tech Silver, which has been my colour of choice for years.
We are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. Personally. I really do not care how common or how uncommon my favourite colour is. Why pay attention to what other people think of my colour choice. If they like it, good. If they do not, let them cry about it. Exclusivity is not what I care and I most certainly would not trade my favourite colour for any exclusivity. Now, I wonder if I need to put on my flame suit.

Anyway, the rate of adoption of the W223 seems really slow locally here as well, when compared with previous generations of S-class. Perhaps many are turned off by the high tech interior?
The local dealer is trying to clear its inventory of MY2020(!) W223s with huge (12%) discount.

I just tried what you suggested and bingo! It is indeed the same color under golden hour lighting. Which also makes my Cirrus Silver look a bit warm.

IMHO that’s the beauty of the color having different hues at different time of day.

I beg to differ with your statement “The rear bumper lower portion should be more indicative of the true colour;” it isn’t, that’s way too dark for its “indicative” colour.

Here’s an interesting tidbit, what color do you think this is:

This can be tricky because the colour in the pic might not be accurate enough to reflect the actual colour.
Colour from the printing of the manual to one's monitor viewing the pic all need to be properly calibrated at each level.
Here is the same car but seemingly with a different colour:-

Mojave Silver is probably not the only colour that behaves interestingly under different angles of light.
The pic below has Cirrus silver/High-tech silver (top) and Mojave silver (bottom).
For both, the bonnet colour is so different from the colour of the rear side door and quarter panel.

I guess it’s country dependent but I believe the W223 wasn’t ever a 2020 MY. I know Europe had some 2019 MY GLEs while the US got them as 2020s even if they were built 12/18, but I think the 223 was always a 2021 MY for the first year.

I thought so as well.
But, the local dealer does advertise those as MY2020. I cannot imagine any reason for them to mislead or not to say so. I mean, if those cars are MY2021, why would they promote them as an older year model? Now it is 2022, it should be much easier to sell a new car of MY2021 than a new car of MY2020.
I checked Wiki (whose info might not be accurate though) and it says certain models (eg S350/400/450/500) of W223 were produced in December 2020. So, my local dealer might have a few of those very early ones?

I’ve seen a few early production 2020 production year S Classes in the US and they’re marked as 2021s. Interesting.

It’s not what other people think. It’s how I feel.
It doesn’t affect you in the least bit pulling up to a red light/in parking lot/at valet, etc where the car next to you is the same? (And happening over and over again).
