Lowering the S580

01. My S580 seems to be in "Safari Mode" all the time. I did raise the car to avoid scraping the front valance but it just seems to be taller than when I took delivery. Any idea on how to lower it?

02. In the past I had Carlson lowering module in my S-Class and loved it.

03. Has anyone here lowered their car?

04. Anybody use a electronic module?

I put mine in sport when on smooth roads and right before parking so it doesn't look jacked up but here's one option

Lowering with links is old school and not easily adjustable.

Years back we used an OBD module. Plug in, program lowering choices and remove.

This one seems to do MBUX, perhaps worth checking with seller on MBUX2 compatibility.

I saw that module on Amazon on my initial search. Amazon vendors make me nervous but I am checking it out.

Ghost Links

Hey 👋🏽

New to MB and the site... however, I've been quietly perusing the forum for a while. I installed Ghost Links and the drop is perfect.

Tip: Grab a heat gun or a blow dryer to heat the factory links up a bit. They easily peel off--and you don't have to worry about snapping the plastic leveling arm ball joint (Why the made it plastic is anyone's guess).

Can you still raise the vehicle in MBUX for more clearance to avoid scraping on driveways etc when its on ghost links?

I noticed you choose the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and went larger on the side wall. Can you please share your experience with the larger side walls. I have the same wheels and I’m considering increasing the side wall size on my new set of tires.

you need to get the link loosened up and then you could raise it. its like zip ties on springs but for cars equipped air suspension.

How does the side profile look from the rear? Are the wheels flush or sucked into the wheel well? (assuming your not using spacers)

CETE from Germany make the only digital app based lowering module that is available to date.. Has numerous settings to choose from.

one if listed on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/14582078524...Bk9SR5iztqT_Yw

Holy smokes that's expensive just to lower the vehicle. At least to me. Think I'll stick with lowering links just to close the tire to fender gap.

Lowering links would be my last option.
I had a module for my W222 and it worked really well.. got it from MWMods, I’d contact @egorijjj_mwmods or check their website. I liked the flexiblity of the module approach.
Another option is coding and in this case EleBest Pte Ltd or Max ( @EleBest ) is the only guy here who knows how to code MBUX and that I’d trust; I used him for other coding stuff and had good experience.

Good luck.

I looked at MWMods but didn't see chassis code W223 and assumed it wasn't available.

Hey Chop, I have your twin (colorwise) and also installed Ghost Links. Is the first picture you posted in a specific mode? Mine looks likes that in Comfort but pretty flush in S+.
