Any USA dealers that sell outside of city

was wondering if anyone has had success with a dealer in the USA who lives outside of the city whom they were willing to sell a vehicle too!

2021 S580
After calling 12 different MB dealerships all over the US looking for the exact color combo etc. I was looking for, Anthony Cook at Mercedes Benz of Fort Mitchell in Kentucky, was hands down the best. His attentiveness throughout the entire process was first class as was the dealership itself. When my car finally made it to the dealership, we flew in from Dallas, Anthony picked us up from the airport, took us out for dinner and drinks, the dealership put us up in a beautiful hotel for the evening, picked us up the next morning for the big reveal (See video attached) and spent over an hour going over the features etc. Next time we purchase another Mercedes, we will absolutely go back to Kentucky and buy from Anthony again. My husband bought a new Range Rover a few months after we bought my S580, and needless to say, the experience was not the same!

Short of having a MB dealership in every single city, a MB dealer needs to sell to a customer not from his city.
Having said this, if a dealer has a choice of having a 'nearby 50-mile' customer or a 'far away 500-mile' customer, I bet the dealer will sell the car to the former.
One big motive is that the 'nearby' customer is likely to bring the car in for service+parts, which means profits. Very generally, a car dealership's profit comprises about 30% (new car sales related) + 25% (used car sales) + 45% (service + parts). Big money there in the after sales business.
But, if the model is somehow very slow selling and the dealer wants to clear his inventory fast, he would see it to a 'far away' customer just as eager too.

However there tellign me they cannot provide temporary plates, so I'll have to wait till my permanent plates come from Florida. I honestly couldnt believe they were saying no to a 156k sale for a car, but a little nudging seemed to help the deal along. Alot of dealers from what i experienced do not want to sell to out of state customers which is insane to me

I bought my S580 from a dealer in California too. The state I am in let's you deduct the trade-in from the sale price, but California charges tax on the whole amount. My trade-in was about have the sales price so they had to ship the car to me and let me register it in my own state. I figure I saved about $5,500 in stales tax but I just had to wait a few days to have it delivered on a flatbed truck.
I did have to sign papers that I was not going to export the car out of the country, but I think state to state sales are welcomed to the dealers if they will make money.

may i ask what ur spec is?
i'm located in Westchester and ended up ordering my spec in Greenwich... had some annoying chip issues back in Feb, but in the end pretty much got what i ordered minus small features that i don't mind missing (trunk kick opener and energizing).
once we were able to final confirm, took about 2mos to build+ship from Germany.

To be honest, the Burmeister 4d and the E-active body control I wasnt looking for in any of the vehicles I was trying to find. I would have preferred to save the 13k, but its the only vehicle ive found that really had everything else so i caved and spent the few extra bucks

later i acquiesced to "just" the amg trim cuz it was going to be driven mostly by me without any passengers...so the rear seats and monitors seemed like overkill. altho i'm sure my kids would've loved them!

that's a great spec...in fact, my first build was the exec trim cuz i really wanted the 10-deg rear as well as the rear exec seats.
later i acquiesced to "just" the amg trim cuz it was going to be driven mostly by me without any passengers...so the rear seats and monitors seemed like overkill. although I'm sure my kids would've loved them!

Not true.
this is my second S580 and I purchased both from out of state. My first was located at MB of Florence SC which was a Luxury Line and my current on which is an Executive Line was purchased at MB of Nanuet located in New York, and I reside in Atlanta GA. Oh p.s., both were purchased from dealers whom does not participate in adjustment market value upcharge.
