I currently have an EQS 580 , but have noticed that as time goes on, the ride quality is good but not as perfect as my prior 2020 Audi A8. Noise levels are better than my prior ride due to laminated glass and Electric power train. But I have been a little dismayed but how some sharp potholes and concrete expansion joints pierce the cabin. I am considering doing a custom order for S580 with E-ABC and trading in my EQS 580. I appreciate the feedback and thoughts from current S580 owners with E-ABC.

I have a lot of experience with the MB suspension upgrades, as ride quality is a HUGE deal with me. I had a 2013 S550 with ABC, 2015 S550 with MBC, 2018 & 2020 S560’s with MBC and my current 2022 S580 with EABC. All of the cars had 18” wheels with non-run flat tires, with the exception of the 2022 for which 19” wheels are the smallest available. I have recently put non-RFT on that car as well.
All of the previous S Class cars rode like a dream! Very compliant even over sharp bumps. The 2022 does not ride nearly as well. IF the EABC system is capable of returning ride quality the same or better than the previous MBC system, then the engineers have not calibrated it correctly. Folks here will rave about the ride quality of their, particular vehicle, but the big question is “COMPARED TO WHAT?” Based on my S Class experience since 2013, I believe I have very good knowledge as to how these cars CAN ride and I feel that the W223 with EABC is not ready for prime time, as it is currently coming off the assembly line.
Mind you, my S580 is near silent, handles incredibly well for its size & weight, the “curve” feature is absolutely amazing, but the actual, “seat of your pants” comfort quotient is far from what I had in my four previous S Class sedans. Perhaps MB will recalibrate the system soon, who knows? All that said, as of right now, I would not buy another S Class for the EABC reasons stated here and for several other issues that need to be tweaked, at the very least.
My 22 S580 does not have EABC. I have 20" tires. The overall ride is excellent. I was not impressed with the EQS ( I really wanted to be) but it left me somewhat underwhelmed (especially the aesthetics). I think the EQS is a stop gap measure before they come out with a true S class electric.
If you can get out of your EQS without too much pain, I would not hesitate getting the new S class. The EABC has not been an issue for me and if I were to order a new S class today I don't think I would tick the box for the EABC. Just my 2 cents worth...
It's going to sound odd from someone coming from Porsche bu,t I like the ride without it. This is my first luxury car, I want it to be pillowy. I know that's not going to be a popular opinion but nevertheless...

Right about now, I could get really excited about a “pillowy” ride in my car.
Nothing is going to get the sour test out of your mouth at this point; you need to trade. Seriously, do yourself a favor, you've fallen out of love and it's time for a divorce.

thank you my friend. It is users like you that make this forum an invaluable resource.
EABC is very interesting, I do enjoy when going over large speed bumps how the vehicle stays flat LOL. Other then that I dont know what it really does lol. I still dont understand what on earth the curve feature does either. Also, does anyone know if this system works at nighttime cause it handles the same roads completely differently
