S580e
Can’t have both cars and have to pick one. I’m choosing to post my question in the S section in hopes that someone has direct experience with an S580e. Read plenty of reviews but want more direct info. I chose the s580e to be able ti balance everyday driving and have flexibility between gas and electric to get to work 25 miles each way. I test drove an S500 and it was super comfortable. I’ve test driven the G63 and felt it to be stiffer but not prohibitive at all (so much better than the last gen). Your thoughts are appreciated.

If you are choosing between the S and the G, it depends on your needs of course, but I would have a hard time not opting for the G. They are truly a unique car unlike any other on the market, and they will hold their value very well.

The G 63 has arguably the most road presence of any regularly produced vehicle. It is also a body on frame SUV and as much as you try to refine that setup, it's going to feel truck-like. The rear seat room is also going to be tight for anything beyond small adults and children if they need to be used regularly.
The S-Class is the exact opposite. A relaxing ride that is going to soak up every imperfection. While it will still garner you attention and likely be left out front when you valet, it is a subtle sedan at the end of the day.

Perhaps after I reach the 2000 mile/one year milestone. On the other hand, there isn't much to report on top of everything that we've seen for the gasoline models and even covering some diesel models.

S580e interests me a lot.

I have an almost identical power to weight ratio in my Wrangler 4xe and have no problem merging on the highway, pulling away from lights, crossing traffic, or even on my very hilly commute but there has been a time or two I've had to mash the pedal to wake up the engine for some extra pep.
The G63 is something I’ve always liked and a really cool car, but it does command attention by all…which is good mostly and can be bad. The S is more subdued and elegant. The other concern is the G63 has an ICE meaning it would likely lose value as our world transitions to electric. The S580e would be a transitional vehicle that I’d keep 5-8 years?
However, after reading this forum, I am now concerned of two things: the value on the S would likely drop as well…or would it? Is the quality that bad between the W222 and W223? I know the S will be more comfortable, but would missing out on a G63 be an epic mistake? Both the s and g are awesome in their own way.
In order to reconcile my decision I figured I’d enlist the opinions of people who’ve actually owned the S class (I haven’t). And if someone has an s580e I wanted to to get an idea of their anticipated time horizon keeping the car and daily usability with a very complex vehicle. For those who owned a G (new version) is the ride too harsh for daily driving or does the cool factor win?
Thank you for your advice to help a confused person haha

I don't drive daily, sometimes not for two weeks. Use diesel cars most often. No regular charging pattern then.
