As a retired Engineer, if I was in charge would also push for Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles and infrastructure to economically produce the Hydrogen Fuel. Have been buying Honda Hybrids since 2012...CRZ 6-speed manual was a unicorn and fun to drive to Oilfield job; 2020 CRV Hybrid is at Georgia Residence. If I do purchase an EV would be a Zero Motorcycle for $30K unless cheaper Honda models are introduced in a few years. Glad that the Tesla Model Y has recently dropped in price to $50K range...wife and kids will be able to afford one now. Since EVs are heavier and not as fun to drive as ICE for the most part, my engineer brain recommends buying a Brick with the highest ground clearance ( Silverado or F150 EV work pickup; Hummer EV) to keep battery pack and electronics as far away from flood waters that California and Pacific NW are experiencing.

Have built a Camaro SS 1LE manual at local Chevy dealership last week ...just have to call Linda to pull the trigger on Retail Sold order and possible last ICE purchase...

I wouldn't say EVs aren't as fun to drive as ICE vehicles, the fun is just different.
