2023 S500 Discounts

At year end I was looking at a 500s locally as was offered $10k off a 2023 and there were a few 2022s in the area which they could do much better on but ended up not going with one. Of course that was end of the year but the market has softened in the last 45 days so I am sure you could still get that or much better.

Yeah j was offered $12k off for one on the lot.
However, the money factor (if you lease] is higher than I previously reported/thought. It’s 0.0027, which is over 6%. The rent charge on a full lease for this car at this price is very large. One thing that worries me is that if I do lease at that rate and interest rates plummet in the a year or two, I’ll essentially be stuck, unless I refinance with a loan.

Yeah the leases even back then didn't make much sense, buying was a better proposition.

Yeah, I looked at that and while I was able to get 2.9% back in July of last year for my current GLE, the lowest I could find now is 5.29%. I don’t plan on keeping this beyond the lease, so knowing I can walk away from the car at lease end versus having to haggle with selling it or trading it in was a key factor in my decision. Plus, it’s a safeguard if I do have issues, lol; it won’t last forever…
I’m going to get it. It’s kind of bare bones, no HUD with a white interior that I don’t like, but it has 20” wheels which I way prefer over the 21” wheels.

Any thoughts on how much more discount mbusa/dealers would offer on the remaining 2022 S500 or S580 with such a large inventory of 2023 to be offloaded this year?
Last I checked inventory for the 2023 S500 is around 2000 units and S580 is around 1600. That seems to be an unusually high volume for the S class.

I would imagine the discounts would be steep on a 2022. Here’s what I would do: don’t even mention the 2022 models on the lot and start negotiating on a 2023 model. Then, when you’re satisfied with the 2023 deal, switch gears to the 2022 you want. At this point, you’ll have a good point of reference and leveraging tool.
