2024 S Class
Does anyone know what changes are in store? Will the v8 still be available and will they be changing the dashboard to match the new E Class (24) / EQS style dash? Thanks!

I do not think they will change the dashboard (ie putting an EQS' Hyperscreen or W214 E-Class' Superscreen) of the W223 at all. Not until W224.
I think 2024 will be a little too early to release the facelift version. My guess is 2025 being the earliest.
Even for the facelift, MB seldom makes a big change in the interior. The most common changes are the headlights, the taillights, the front and rear bumpers, and the exterior rearview mirrors.

2020 S560 Sedan, 2019 SL450, 2019 E450 Luxury Trim Wagon, '24 BMW I7 on order...
Sure would be nice if they got all the bugs in the current model fixed before moving onto cosmetic changes.

The S63 should give you an idea of what to expect as far as the dash goes; it is not getting the hyperscreen and coming as a 24 in the US. Drive pilot is reported to have availability; whether as an option or standard equipment hasn't been revealed yet. Not sure if it matters; there currently isn't a mile of road in the US that can use it and if they move as slowly as they are with the matrix lighting 24 owners may never get to try it during their lease. But... It's new for 24.

Facelift will likely be a MY25. Expect little changes outside. The last test model however was spied with a covered passenger area hinting at a possibility of some sort of third screen.

25 for refresh probably, I would guarantee it will have a hyperscreen option. They're not going to have the hyperscreen in the E and not the S.

I love the typerscreen in my wife's EQS 580. It is very cool!

You would think the S-Class gets the full meal deal when it comes. Wouldn't be surprised if in some fashion they keep the current unit and it's an option as you see on EQS. Gotta milk those dollars out...

I would imagine it will be an option, its not just the money its also that not everybody wants the hyperscreen, especially older buyers.

The current EQS and EQE's Hyperscreen is feasible because the passenger side's dash area (right above the glove compartment) is large enough to accommodate.
The same goes for the incoming new W214 E-Class. The pic below shows the trapezoidal area which can receive the Hyperscreen/Superscreen well.
But, current W223 has a narrower and smaller dash area on the passenger side, making it difficult to receive the current trapezoid design of the Hyperscreen/Superscreen.
And I just do not think MB is going to completely redesign the current dash for the facelifted 223 in order to incorporate the Hyperscreen.
This will surely be so for the W224. But it just does not look like it is going to happen for the FL 223.
Instead, I think MB might just use the extended full length screen of the EQXX in the facelifted 223, as an option to keep in pace with the W214's optional Superscreen.
The pic below shows my thinking.

The EQXX screen will probably find its way in the next S-Class (EV) so the full S-Class but in the form of an EV. one whole screen instead of the three separate screens, although not impossible but it is unlikely they would put that screen in the facelift W223, I will be glad to hear if I am wrong though.

I'd prefer the infotainment screen be largerr as in the EQS and skip the rest of it. Make the dash so that the driver display is integrated into it which would also reduce the visible footprint of the HUD. That would be both more elegant and more functional, which is the direction I'd go. The Hyperscreen is cool tech but not necessarily more useful other than the larger infotainment.
I'd also further develop the individual screens themselves. An example would be the screen for Tidal; my phone GUI has more function in a fraction of the space. I recognize they're designing for ease of use on the move but they've gone too far with a lot of wasted space in some menus. I'd also put the climate on dials looking much like the dial for the lights and locate that in the wasted space betweeen the infotaiment screen and the cup holder bin and separate them with a matching but different volume dial/knob. That would give you some of your most frequently used functions on a physical button while opening up that area of the screen to be tasked to other uses.
Lets face it, if they had hired me I could have made this a better car!

I mean, like mobile phones, all the good things always do not get released all in one go. Eg the screen size, the resolution ...etc have been available as far as panel technology is concerned. But phone companies do not give you the top and the best so quick. They releases models with incremental improvements over several generations. The obvious reason:- to milk as much as possible from the consumers.

Guess what? I bet the MB engineers and designers are not stupid at all. They have already figured out a lot of good things. But the MB market department does not want to release the 'latest and best' so quick.

My main considerations of a mobile phone is its size and weight. Frankly, I prefer smaller and lighter phones, even if this means a reduction in resolution.

Same, imagine all the good hardware/cameras of the larger phone in the small package. I don't understand the obsession of big phones, if you want a tablet buy a tablet, but that is just me.

The reason for the above request as to information on the ‘24 DOG opening. I ordered a dressed 223 before Christmas and was told March 26 production. Now, being told May. Hell, by the time it hopefully gets here, the year will be half over. Just as soon wait for ‘24 DOG and allocation.

The production year already is half over. Still can't configure an S580 online which says something about their timeliness.

Same thing, configurator is also not there.
