Every now and then the center screen will display a live image from the front camera while stopped at a light. It says traffic light camera view or something to that effect.

What causes this to come up and why is it so sporadic? Most lights nothing will show up.

Generally it comes up when you are the first vehicle at the stop light…..

I don't remember when your car was built but the intermittent traffic light view issue was fixed in an update. It's only supposed to trigger when you're the first at the light as Philly stated. If it's doing that you have normal operation, if not your build might pre-date the software revision.

I’ve been at the front and it hasn’t come on. It’s very rare that it does.

Have they completely discontinued the traffic light countdown? When I first received the car for the first 3-5 months when I would get to a light it would show me the live countdown of how long until the light changed. This stopped a few months back and I figured they were just doing maintenance but it never came back online

yeah believe they cancelled that part of the feature awhile ago.

I was updated to the latest MBUX version very recently and it works much better now. Im noticing it more often.

It’s weird but I noticed it coming on even when I wasn’t at the front. I was three cars back at a light and it came on. These were very large intersections and I left some space in front of me so maybe it thought I was at the front.

In any case, it definitely comes on much more often with the software update and in fact it leans more towards coming on then not in scenarios where it might get confused. However, the only drawback now is that I usually fiddle with the media or other items while stopped and now I have to cancel the screen whereas before I didn’t have to since it rarely came on. Proverbial double-edged sword; damned if you do, damned if you don’t, lol. I may turn it off now lol.

Yep, exactly. Mine didn't work at all until it was updated and then it worked too well. For me once I discovered that the timer didn't work it wasn't long before I disabled it because that was what I wanted in the first place. In the menu you can set it for on demand which is what I did. Do that and you get a toast that you can punch it you want to bring it up.
