Traffic light assist - barely works

I've got the glc 2023 but as its based on the W206 it should be pretty similar.

In my old w177, when you stopped at the lights, the camera always shot in to action and zoomed out so you could see the lights. On this new car I've had it happen twice in over a month.

Does anyone else have this issue?

On my w206 I turned it off because it was activating every single time, and I don’t see the usefulness of it here in US where the traffic lights are on the other side of the intersection.

Where are you located? Your profile says GB, but that looks like a USA/North America intersection. As the poster above said, in the USA/North America, traffic lights are placed across the intersection, so there's never really a problem to see them. This feature makes more sense in Europe where the traffic lights are positioned in a way that makes them difficult to see for the first car stopped at a light. I also believe the EU spec cars have a Traffic Light Zoom option that you can turn on that zooms in on the traffic light. In the US-spec owner's manual I don't see this option mentioned.

The OP used a picture for example. I think that model is an EQE/EQS, for sure not a GLC

This might sound funny but are the cameras and sensors clean and did you try turning it off, getting out of the vehicle locking it, wait and getting back in and turning it on? Sometimes this Restart? helps clear electrical glitches.

Looks like someone else is experiencing it but on an S-Class:https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ml#post8756584
I wonder if it might be a software issue that can be patched just via a software update?

It's strange because the regular AR navigation works completely fine and consistently so I know there's nothing wrong with the actual hardware. It just seems like a software issue. More of an annoyance really

Hopefully an OTA update solves it.

My Traffic Light Assist in my W206 C220d works almost perfectly - only a few times in the last 1 1/2 month of ownership has it not come on at a traffic light, and it always zooms out to make the lights visible to me... I'm in Denmark btw...

I don’t know if the traffic light view turns on knowing where the lights are located via map database, or its software recognizes them like speed limits signs.
They just installed a new traffic light nearby and the traffic light assist in my car never comes on there.

Did you see if there a newer map version available?
