Guten Tag From Stuttgart: Visiting the Mercedes Museum

Guten Tag! This last weekend I went to Munich for Frühlingsfest and stopped in Stuttgart on my last day to visit the Mercedes Museum. I highly recommend that any owner that has the chance to visit to do so as its truly a wonderful museum full of fantastic cars as well as informational exhibits. In addition, they throw a Classics and Coffee event weekly during the Spring to Fall season which featured awesome cars from every brand.

Since I own a W223 and this is one of the more active sub-forums, I thought I'd post this thread here for your enjoyment.

And some extra photos from the BMW Museum in Munich.

Yep, great museum. Was there in 2019 after picking up my AMG in Sindelfingen at the Center of Excellence and spending 2 months in Europe. Did the AMG factory tour in Affalterbach the same day, and the factory tour in Sindelfingen the day before when I picked up the car. Went to the BMW Welt and BMW Museum this January while visiting Munich on a trip through Switzerland, Austria and Germany while also attending an AMG winter driving event in Austria. Unfortunately, there wasn't much snow, but we managed to drift around on some man made snow.

While in Stuttgart you should have also gone to the Porsche Museum.
Not far away from MB's....and a great collection to see.

We enjoyed both and a must see for the gear heads.

I definitely wanted to but didn't have enough time sadly, had to make the train back to Munich. I'll have to go next time I'm in Germany.

Wow that looks like a super fun trip, I am super jealous! Cool photos, definitely on my bucket list for sure.

I have to say I think it would be super cool if MB brought the G350d over to the states and gave you the option to give it this type of treatment. I am SUPER against CEO Ola’s TERRIBLE idea to dilute the G wagen with a fwd based mini G called the GLG, but am fully in support of a G350d in the states. It won’t dilute the G class image or brand and they could even limit allocations of them as they currently do. It would make the car a much more interesting proposition as it would make it a much more usable car. You won’t be stuck with 10 mpg and no road trip range, and MB diesels are still unkillable just like the old days. Ah but a man can only dream, the prospect of new diesels in our market is pretty much dead and we all know who to point for that… *cough* *Volkswagen Auto Group* *cough*

The 500k Edition G-Wagon was awesome, and there’s definitely a market for this type of off-road retro look. I believe a few articles stated that Mercedes was hinting at bringing a package eventually to do this but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

There definitely is! I don’t know if I’d get it in this matte green, but maybe one of their old 70s/80s oil based paints that you can get through the manufaktur program would look really cool. I guess we wait and see, would be really cool though!
