Everything has too much branding for me, has for years. I read the nouveau roturier like to flaunt their money and see no shame in it, but I see it as a vulgar. Whatever... I'm an old man only inches away from chasing teenagers off of my lawn with a charged garden hose; what do I know?

This is actually part of MB's ongoing branding strategy since Mercedes is recognized as a luxury brand, not unlike Chanel and Luis Vuitton. As such you can expect more logo branding on their cars throughout. More so on the high-end. As in well above 100 logos per car...
If concept cars are an indication, expect that many logos in the grill, head or taillight design alone.
FYI: For the seventh consecutive year, Mercedes-Benz retains its position as the only European brand and the only luxury brand in the automotive sector in the top 10 of the 100 “Best Global Brands”.
Couple details from the Maybach EQS SUV.

It's a trend in all industries world-wide; some culture/countries more than others, but a trend. More approachable, memorable, easier to place in multiple sizings without losing detail or becoming too cluttered in appearance.
The latter is beneficial because it lets you scale from phone to billboard and allows the embedding of more logos. Some irony there...

I don't know about you but I don't see other companies throwing their logo in every place they can think of. Only seen it on new MBs and only reason is that it apparently attracts buyers but please help me out and find some images of other brands doing these things, I genuinely want to know. Is bmw and audi doing this, is that what you mean?

Jokes aside, I do think it is better suited on a hand bag. But at the end of the day what do I know, I don’t shop for this stuff and I’m just some keyboard warrior.

Seems like MB's brand value stands at $56 Billion. Behind Coca Cola and ahead of Disney...
Speaking of logos. Here is an image of the upcoming Maybach SL. Noteworthy hood

Repetitive hood logos aside, it's strange seeing a SL with a hood star.

Agreed. That is MB's brand strategy. AMG completely removed the Mercedes Stars and even MB logos from their hoods. Now it's the Afalterbach AMG logo only. Maybach on the other hand has the Mercedes Star on every model. From the SL to the EQS SUV...

That is actually really interesting. I was not aware that it was the only auto manufacturer and only European company in the top 10 of the 100 best. I too wonder how that is awarded, I will definitely look into it. Although I have to say a lot of people have been unhappy with MB in the last year or two so who’s to say they’ll make it eight years. Either way, it definitely makes a lot of sense as to the direction they’re taking because of it. I wonder where those Maybach logos got their inspiration from…

Let us know your findings on how MB made it on that list : )

Although Maybach isn't a fashion brand maybe Maybach customers actually want that? I am eager to see what Mythos have to offer.

I think it will be more appreciated (by Maybach customers of course exceptions are that some want a understated car that looks like just a Mercedes but with the additional luxury) if that star is the Maybach logo instead but I get it, Maybach isn't trying to be Rolls-Royce (they don't need to have an entirely separate identity) reason why it is fine to have an MB logo and just a Maybach (brand name) on wheels.

Badge is aftermarket, of course, there's no official part number for this. But this badge job is so mainstream and common - to the point that most of the Chinese general public now believe it to be factory original

And even that, is still not enough for the Chinese customers. Where I'm from, most 'Maybach' owners replace their hood stars with Maybach badges. Like this.

Fair enough we have different opinions.
For me I rather go with the fully debadged look but for those who are buying Maybachs and in forum member rw594's market specifically when "face" as he mentioned is something so important, the badges make sense to the majority of people there.

Personally I think adding any emblems to a car that it didn't come with is really cheesy, so adding the Maybach hood ornament when it didn't come that way and MB doesn't even sell the part is cheesy.
