Say I want to lease or buy the S Class refresh in 2025 (I presume it’s coming out then), and I have one year left on my lease, will Mercedes allow an early lease turn in for the upgrade? Or will Mercedes and the dealer treat it like any other payoff/equity situation?
I was under pressure to just buy whatever I could. Next time I want to order an S Class with the options I want and I want the refresh.

6 month early return was a standard option on several models. I don't see a year being possible without any financial repercussions...
Just another S class but with the options I want, including 4D Burmester, HUD, Napa, RWS. I also want the refresh and the hyperscreen assuming it’s offered. I’ll likely buy it as well and keep it long term with a warranty. I only drive a few thousand miles per year on it so I’ll get the longest warranty period with the lowest mileage possible lol (i.e., cheapest).
The rear wheel is astounding, especially if you get the 10, you can do what was literally impossible before when it comes to squeezing into spaces. Even at the grocery store it's just easier to get into your spot, doesn't matter how Joe Driver you are, easier is easier.
The Napa is all over, everywhere you look, and it ups the ante considerably, when considering the extra trim also thrown in, I'm surprised more people don't get it because it's not too terrible an upcharge.
The HUD is just fantastic, easily the best tech in the car in that it works flawlessly and is genuinely useful. I like the 3D just because it looks cool, it doesn't actually do anything though and some have troubles with it depending on their seating position, I have never had any issues at all, so the cool factor has remained untainted.
The 4D... I almost always order and I always buy loaded, but that was a lot to swallow for an upgraded stereo. On this side of it, I don't regret it at all. Stupid money for a stereo in a car that has what I thought was a decent sounding stock radio, but, you feel like you got something for it. No question. The biggest problem I have with it is keeping my co-pilot from hogging the thing, she just loves to get on Tidal and find some oddball tune to play.
I would not get the hyperscreen; it looks less elegant and it doesn't actually add any functionality. With the 3D tech I find that I seldom look at the center screen, that's by and large menu dive territory. Meanwhile, the center screen set-up allows the passenger equal access to it and they can use it without any issue at all. Doesn't bother me because everything is up in the HUD anyway. Even when I want a map up to reference, I put it in the diver's display because it's easier to see there than the center screen, and the hyperscreen wouldn't change that. Mileage will vary with this one, but no chance I check that box knowing what I know now.
As stated by another member... they'll trade you out of it if they want your business.
Leased a Luxury S500 in July--took it back in Sep for an S580. MB of West Covina discounted it $28K to make the deal happen.

Ah the hyperscreen looks cool but in a W223, wood will be nice to have especially to replace the piano gloss in the centre console area, sort of like the W214. Hopefully facelift allows us to option that.
I seem to be in the minority here but I like the hyperscreen and it wouldn’t definitely be an option I check off if it’s offered in the refresh.
Totally understand, I just personally don't like screens in cars and very much prefer wood in an S-Class or even just E-Class but to be honest MB did the hyperscreen which no one else did so I guess they followed the either go big or go home type of thing and it sure stands out from the competition in that case.

Nah, there are fans on both sides. I would have said hyperscreen before owning the car, just because in my mind it's more techy looking and I'll usually swing toward the toys every time. In this case the HUD ended up obviating the screen altogether for most uses; hyperscreen or one half the size of what I have now, I just wouldn't use it much except to menu dive. I think the car itself is a factor for me as well: What this car is good at, or at least what I like about it, is the sense of luxury, the comfort, the quiet, the isolation. I let my copilot get the tunes going and just waft along, not much worrying about anything. In that place, doing that, I'd choose the elegant option over the tech.

Have you thought of asking an independent car dealer what they would give you for the car? My neighbor had a W222 that had his lease expiring and he sold it to an independent dealer and was wired $7000 before he released the car to them (think about that, $7k to sell as opposed to a $0 turn in) The independent pays MBFS and then wholesales the car. You have nothing at risk asking an independent what they will give you. Do call at a minimum 2 dealers. This will tell you if there is an option of getting rid of it earlier than the lease termination. My same neighbor had a 7 Series BMW that the dealer refused to buy early, it’s resale was not as good as his S series.
My hope is we will get the iteration of the hyperscreen you see in the new E Class. My issue is I just still don't care for the tacked on screens
Ya you were referring to the superscreen. The superscreen is good too, I heard the superscreen uses IPS and not amoled like the hyperscreen though, hope I am wrong/remembered it incorrectly.
Yep, superscreen lol. Even in non superscreen equipped E Classes I like the dash better than the 223...the wood on the console vs the piano black alone:
+1 on the wood. The sooner the cheap looking plastic exits the scene, the better. I'd bite on that one, it's the boomerang across the whole front I'm not down with; ok for another car, but not this one.
Notwithstanding the excess cost-cutting plastic, the buttons don't look too bad here - 25 years ago
That's the 2000 model, right? My rich uncle had one back in the day. 2000 S500... I remember the ride quality was just amazing on that car ( I was in 7th grade back in 2000)
