Moonlight White is a BIG improvement over Diamond White

One thing I have never liked about the diamond white my S560 is that it looks creamish in some lighting. Stopped by the dealer today and saw the new Moonlight White in person, huge improvement IMO…

I have the dark blue (well, I will on the 19th)...always been a fan of dark blue. Had a dark blue LC 500 (magnificent machine) and a dark blue Panamera (also magnificent)...

But I am a huge fan of "pearl white" (vs plain white), especially down here in sunny and hot south Florida.

I test drove a '23 S580 in white and you're right, that new white is much brighter and prettier.

I think that one is all you! 😁

LOL, not getting anything for a while, but liking the white helps with getting a good deal since so many of them on lots are white.

Silver Palladium is my favorite color of all-time on the S-class. I hate that it was not available for the S560/facelift.
White looks so good on the W223. I always liked pearl white in general on most sedans, and this diamond white looks great too. If I get a W223, I wouldn't mind white at all, but would avoid the dark/black colors all the time (W223 doesn't look as good as W222/W221 in dark colors).

Yes, I loved Palladium Silver on my 2015 and would have continued with it if MB had. When it comes to white, I’ve never cared for the pearl or metallic versions. To me, white needs to be a solid color.

You mean diamond white metalic?

Left is the straight white like Streamliner's SL, right is diamond white like my S560. The new Moonlight white is much closer to the straight white just with a nice pearl, its not cream-ish at all like diamond white.

In many lighting situations the diamond white looks awesome, its just in shady situations on cloudy days etc it looks very cream-y.

Like in this picture of my car the diamond white looks great:

I like the Diamond White. To me, it's the more elegant shade; most particularly when considering the way it compliments the chrome. I do like a straight-up white in the Stormtrooper style; but that's a more sporting look. As an example that might be a choice I'd make on an S63, if I could get the complimentary black trim to make it pop.

Always interesting to see how people react to these small changes in shade.

Diamond White Metallic has changed over the years. When it was first released, it had a definite yellow tinge to it, which I absolutely did not like.

New guy here; couldn't very well buy an old man's car until I was ancient. * sigh*

I didn't know they had changed it in any event. Cant say what I would make of the old shade, I'd have to see it.

Yep, I prefer the Diamond white to straight up white - much like my Z06 is...wish it was Diamond White metallic. I had the red stripes added by my film guy along with xpel film. That was 6 years ago and it still looks fantastic. Doesn't hurt that it is garaged.

I prefer pearl white to straight up white, I just don't like the sometimes cream-y look. Streamliner is right, DW has gotten "whiter" over the years.

Pearl whites that I love:

BMW Mineral White:

Lexus eminent white pearl:

This new Moonlight White is more similar to these, a pearl white but without any yellow in it.

I saw a W223 with red interior today... Never expected the red interior to look that good, especially when combined with white exterior!. I'd sat that my fav combo now would be the red interior with white exterior!. I never expected myself to like red interiors...

Carmine Red is a great interior, my only concern is I would get tired of it.

Red or any other color, I don't see myself in a pre-facelift W223. The car has aged much much sooner than any other S-class in history. Many of these W223s feel and look older now (mentally) than W222/S560s.... I am curious about what Mbenz can do to the front which looks seriously outdated and boring. Perhaps the fact they carried the bumper design from the W222 to some degree made it look also dated. Not sure. Great car but again, we said that over and over, there is something missing....

Thats exactly what happened to me. I got the silver exterior with the red and the color did not hold its attraction for me. I’m sure part of that was my overall unhappiness with the car, but there was just too much shiny black in the interior and with the red, it became garish to me. IF I were to go with a W223 again, I would go with the black or the beige interior with a matte wood trim. By the way, the lower photo is more true to the actual color.

Yeah thats my concern. I always just seem to come back to black interiors. They're classy, never go out of style, age well...

I wish the W223 had some better matte open pore wood options. The dark one without the metal lines really looks cheap, IMO. I love the trim with the vertical metal lines but its really expensive, and doesn't look right in any interior but the beige IMO. MB had beautiful open grain matte trims in other models, but for some reason not in the W223. I likely would wind up back with black and the standard glossy poplar trim.

I do like this interior:

I went and drove a GLS580 the other day (which I really liked) and sat again in a 223, and the cheapness of a lot of the build always just surprises me so much...every time I spend more time with one I come away with more cheap stuff I've found.

Try getting this kind of reflection off the Moonshine White paint color. Diamond White is much more upscale looking in the right ambient lighting conditions

But looks creamy and dirty in other ambient lighting conditions...thats the problem. Moonlight looks good in all lighting conditions.

I walked up to my diamond white car yesterday, it was cloudy and I actually went "yuck", the car was eggnog colored.

I had a Pearl White on my 2006 Lexus SC 430. Amazing and beautiful color.
