All Mercedes Electric by 2030?
Did I read this correctly? "Mercedes-Benz plans to convert its entire lineup to exclusively electric vehicles by 2030".
In a word...ridiculous.

yes BUT only "in markets where conditions allow" : )
In my view, the US will certainly NOT be on the special exclusionary list, in a way that I think the US will be an all-EV market.....

They've been walking that one back almost from the day they said it, same with VAG and many others. I'm not arguing any of the merits, nor the many pitfalls involved, across the entire spectrum of pros and cons involved in their manufacturing and the ultimate goal of reducing net carbon. Completely outside those questions, the timeline was too aggressive; they were never going to make it.

EVs aren't selling and I've heard several manufacturers are scrapping plans to build them. or at least to invest in them

Good EVs are selling. Bad EVs aren’t selling. Just like ICE vehicles.
Facts:
-The best selling car on earth is an EV, worldwide.
- A record number was reported in 2023 for U.S. vehicle buyers choosing to go electric, consistent increase year over year.
It’s probably Mbenz that’s suffering with the PC mouse-shape EQS. A good EV that’s also a good looking one would easily sell.

EVs are force fed to the public and are an environmental nightmare in more ways than one. A better continuous renewable source of energy is needed before we kill gas cars. Natural gas has 33% less CO2 emissions is abundant cheap continuous and a better transition than EVs batteries and trillions in infrastructure needed. The EVs push is the biggest scam of the century.

EVs are better in every way. There's an infinite amount of energy and making people pay for any of it is a scam. Won't be long before Chinese cars become full nuclear powered with tritium batteries that last decades without recharging. But what will the oil, gas, coal, solar, wind and all the other energy racketeers do for a living? The federal corporation (aka "duh gubmint") has to protect and serve multinational corporations so they better not let us buy those! I mean, what's next? No international banksters controlling our economy? The horror!

Tons of opinions, hardly an ounce of valid fact or cited sources that stand up under scrutiny.
If this constitutes trollery, make the most of it.

Where do you see in his post above here that he brought up stupid politics or even made stupid arguments that attacked you. Its you who brought up stupid politics based on the above against that user that you attacked for no reason. To my understanding, last time I asked, this forum welcomes all people from everywhere regardless of their country, color, religion or political believes. And even if he does support certain people or counties that you dislike, so what.. and even if so, so be it, why not. What's stupid or wrong in your view, is 100% smart and right for others. Should be none of your business. Kinda silly when people on this forum keeps attacking each others for things that are no relevant for a forum like this.

It's up to you both to keep arguing from here. I have no interest to be in the middle of all of this, but I'd hate for this forum to house exchanges of this nature and topics.

You are probably in the wrong forum if you want to describe people or their beliefs that way. You don't have the right to describe people that way. If you describe his people that way, he probably has the right among others to describe you the same exact way. I checked his account out of curiosity, he seems like a reasonably good person and non of his posts were controversial. Even better, mostly were reasonable and true except a part of his post above about EVs theory.

I know lots of people with EVs, none of them bought their EVs to save the planet, and none of them have any interest in going back to an ICE car.

Even that though is only an issue when you travel. Even if the range was cut by 60%, I still hardly ever drive more miles than the available range in a day, and its going to charge overnight in my garage. For day to day use it can't be beat IMO, travel is an entirely different story

you guys see the irony: the 'global warming' resulted in the one of coldest temperatures ever both here and in Europe, and EVs that are supposed to be a cure for it, don't work in the cold, which they conveniently didn't tell us when given tax payers money to EV manufacturers. Now the goal is to phase out the ICE cars and have transportation in the northern areas come to a screeching hold. Can't wait for EV airplanes.

Motor Authority website sneak peak at the 2025 S-Class article states, "Note, this is most likely the last generation of the S-Class to feature internal-combustion engines. Mercedes plans toexclusively offer electric vehicles by 2030and will start migrating its top-end models to a dedicated EV platform from 2025.
That is sad because I was looking forward to a new S-class every three years now that I have the means. But sorry, I won't patronize and give credence this global scam. When my driving habits, convenience and cost makes it prudent to get an EV, I will get one - not a day before. My only guess is these elitists in Stuttgart got sucked into this politically based "save the planet" ESG paradigm at the highest levels in Mercedes. Germans are lemmings in this cause. They tore down coal plants to put up wind farms only to tear down the wind farms and rebuild coal plants again. Don't believe me? Look it up. It wasted billions because they made decisions solely based on bias and politics and not rationale. I can only hope they lose billions more like all the other car manufacturers who got sucked into this unrealistic timeline. That is why EVs must be force fed. They cannot compete with ICE without subsidies or eliminating the competition. So, the only leverage they have is to take away your options or tax the sh&* out of ya for any alternative. EVs have a place surely and I think they there is a big market for them, but to make it the ONLY market means they lost their f*^%kn minds.
