2004 W240 Maybach 57
Looks like someone entered 80 for qts oil and was charged $229.52. If the # was 8.0, that's still $28.69 per quart! $615 for Service A (simple oil/filter change and some checks) is robbery.
I just changed the oil/filter in my V-12 Maybach from the top (vacuum pump out the oil) and oil filter cartridge from the top in the convenience of my garage for the price of 11 Quarts Mobil 1 0W-40 Euro formula and the filter kit. Walmart accepts used oil for free. Engine air cleaner elements are similarly easy to do DIY for a Service B. Plus I get the satisfaction of knowing the job is done right and get to spend some quality one-on-one time with my car.

Oh, yeah. How many quarts does our car take and what is the dealer price?
Look at the labor, though. It took them a little over an hour for that amount…
I’m wondering if they are just inflating the cost since they knew I prepaid? Can anyone share their ‘A’ service costs for those that paid out-of-pocket?

Honestly, no "big one" scares yet. Clearly, it's not a daily driver. I save it for 1-2 pleasure drives/week. Maybe putting 2-3K miles per year at this point. For me it is a bucket list item. I was born in Germany, raised by parents who loved Germany and spent my formative years appreciating all things German. I had Mercedes and BMW posters on my wall while most kids had Camaros and Mustangs. I'm an engineer and appreciate all the engineering and craftsmanship that went into designing and building these cars. They are a rolling piece of art to me.

Honestly, no "big one" scares yet. Clearly, it's not a daily driver. I save it for 1-2 pleasure drives/week. Maybe putting 2-3K miles per year at this point. For me it is a bucket list item. Wow. What a difference. The variability of costs for these services makes the pre-paid maintenance plans difficult to justify, unless you know precisely how much each service actually costs at your dealer.

I have a 2023 S580 and still many miles and 288 days before my first service, but I also have a BMW 750 and lemme tell you my 10,000-mile service for BMW was about $600+ or more. I do not have the receipt handy, but I remember the hit as it was only a few months ago.
It probably was expensive for what was done but looks to me like the MB service was cheaper or in that same price range.
