My driver's seat creaks and squeaks with every weight shift, so getting in and out, turning, just shifting in the seat. It's extremely loud and annoying. I've had two different dealers attempt to fix the issue 3 times but all they do is order and replace the trim. Last time the service advisor told me that they tried 3 brand new S-Classes and all have squeaky seats, however none were quite like mine. All the squeaks and rattles in the car drive me insane. Already had them swap out the overhead console and put "Mercedes-approved" felt around center console. There is literally no surface that feels solid inside the car.

Man.... every additional minute I spend in the W223 I get less and less passionate about even considering the W223 in the future. Not that I think there was a good chance, but am sad to see all these issues reported about the W223 compared to what am reading in the W222 forum.
I can only hope the refresh solves these issues...
I hope so…. But typically facelift focuses on other improvements while leaving the majority of the car and the baseline the same. Anyway if they change the dashboard completely (which I hope they will), that will be huge in my view. I love the new E-class dashboard, I truly love it. It feels like the S-class dashboard now, wherein the W223 feels like the E-class level dashboard!

I dunno, they have a lot of strong competition now and the E Class is much better in this regard, I have faith we will see some real improvement.
I have the same problem with my seat but I am thinking of trying a couple strips of somewhat thick, very sticky, strong Velcro carefully placed near those clips that will stick the trim piece to the heavy plastic seat base that the trim clips into. The plastic trim piece has some flex to it, so I don't think holding it in place with strong Velcro will result in breakage.
Worse thing that could happen is I'll think I ripped my pants getting out of the car when the Velcro strips pull apart!

I've seen softer plastics get sticky and start to warp after just a few years, even in extremely expensive exotic cars. Then again, I might just be fooling myself to justify the 100 grand I blew. LOL
So, if I understand you correctly, when the cars come off the assembly line, they are only HALF BAKED?
Just a pic to show how the plastic at the driver side is coming off everytime i get out of the car.
Not to add insult to injury, I had to go check my W222 because I was sure my car did not have all that plastic at the base of the door sill and seat base. W222 is carpeted and felt lined, looks to be removed on W223. Also this seat wear is from 8 years of ownership and 86k miles. Looks to be holding up a lot nicer as well. *please excuse the dirt*

I had my 2022 S580 about 18 months and the edges of the red interior driver’s seat were showing noticeable wear. The “loose cushion” look looked very nice when the car was new, but did not age well. I much preferred the design of the W222 seats. Here’s a photo of my 2015. That car was put together so nicely:

I will say that on the 222 this area I have circled is very cheap plastic, its really the only cheap plastic I have found in the car. You don't interact with it tough...

You know, it takes a lot of work to screw up something so perfect. People actually sat around in meetings and consciously decided that the new 223 interior was the way to go. Mind boggling.

I completely agree. Take the "pop-out" door handles for example. MB had a PERFECT door handle that is still used on many lesser models in the lineup. Other than copying Tesla, what could the designers at MB have been thinking when they replaced PERFECT with Rube Goldberg contraptions? When I hear the "aerodynamics" argument, I can't help but laugh. I find the pop-out handles to be truly annoying at best and potentially dangerous at worst, yet MB felt a need to saddle their premier customers with them.
Young people buy cool. We are old, above the target demographic they are engineering to, there was never a chance it was going to go our way.
I am sorry my friend. Maybe I'm wrong, but works well is our generation, it clearly wasn't what they were going after. Or they're insanely incompetent. Pick one?
Yeah that’s one of my pain points with the 223, all that plastic around the door frame that is all carpeted and fabric covered in the 222.
Which is a funny juxtaposition to the G12 7 series, which had plastic around the door frame in my full Merino BMW Individual Interior while my G70 is all aluminum and high quality carpeting.

The W222 interior definitely has "old man vibes" whereas the W223 and other recent models are definitely going for a younger audience and more youthful interior vibe. The W222 interior (and exterior) are starting to show their age IMO. The interior of the W222 was no doubt high quality but design wise has a dated and "last gen" appearance today.
I've been enjoying our recent MBs and the new direction design/tech wise, so I'm happy as a clam with MB and where they're headed.
Despite my lack of youth, I liked the styling in the 223: Clean, modern, elegant. The execution is where it falls down. Acres of fake piano black plastic had no place in this car. While subjective, I think a reasonable person would not be wrong to expect more from MBs finest sedan. Their icon. The one you would think they would try very hard to get right.
I say it over and over: Most of these things are immediately obvious. They had to know, but did it anyway. This tells you a lot about the executives making the decisions; and I couldn't help but make the inference: It tells you what they think of their customers as well; they judged all that cheap looking black plastic to be good enough for the likes of us.

Very well said. Then, there are the other headaches—a list I just typed and then erased—as we all know them. Simply put, the W223 was not a thoroughly sorted & finished product when released and OH, the unforgivably crummy shifting transmissions—had to mention that one!

I don't disagree, I think the exterior is dated more than the interior. The dated part of the exterior are the character lines along the sides IMO.
What I would like is a more modern interior that has the same quality as the 222. What holds me back from the 223 isn't the design it's the areas where they cheaped out that would bug me every time I drive it.
