Electric doors and haptic

What are everyone's thoughts on when we'll get electric doors(hello, Genesis and BMW)? And, the same goes for the infernal haptic controlls? Good grief!

The haptics are alleged to be going away, or substantially reduced, with the face-lift. The face-lift is alleged to be coming for MY26.

If there has been any talk of taking one of the Maybach's exclusive bullet points (the electric doors) and allowing it to be installed on the vanilla S-class, I haven't seen it. That it can be had on the Maybach implies that it wouldn't be too difficult to make it happen, but they seem to be intent on keeping the vanilla S-Class kneecapped to protect it. Certainly, it would be a welcome add.

Will be looking forward to more buttons less capacitive touch.

I very much look forward to electric doors. At this point, when the 7-series and even other/cheaper cars like Tesla Model X, many Chinese vehicles, Genesis, all have it - I feel it is a must have in the S-class. Very nice feature and very useful when you have kids too. Also would love the feature for them to auto-close as am leaving the car. For a car like W223 that still doesn't even offer phone as a key or UWB, I wonder if the W223 facelift would suddenly jump from none, to also offer phone as key along with electric and auto welcoming/closing doors.
A new steering wheel is guaranteed, I guess. Current design is really bad - I hate the less capacitive touch but more so the design itself and the gloss cheap looking finish. I believe Mbenz will listen as this has been a very common and legitimate complain.

No, they absolutely said they are reducing the capacitive, changing the wheel, and adding hard buttons. What they didn't do, is quantify that in any specific way. Figure the wheel capacative is gone for sure, and some of the new hard buttons will find a home there, crap shoot on the rest of it.

I'm paraphrasing, but the executive I'm referencing said something along the lines of, "You have been heard, loud and clear."

Didn't Tesla started first with the electric doors? I mean MB already pretty much copied Tesla with the one big screen idea (not talking about the W213 or W222 horizontal ones) , surprised they didn't put the electric doors as well.

Same as the digital lights, they need to give you some reason to step up to the Maybach, and the extra features are part of that. Of course, as pointed out: You've got digital lights on a C300, the doors are available at BMW, Genesis, in direct competitors. Does make for a problem when you're kneecapping your icon to keep some space between it and your extra profit model.
