Newbie Here

Hello ! Transitioned from a 2024 E450 AT to a 2025 S580 three days ago. I call it my Mafioso car: Obsidian black with the night package and the 20" high gloss black wheels...and the Carmine red interior. Amazing vehicle. BUT does anyone else have an issue with the center a/c ducts reflecting badly in the windshield and have you found a solution?? It's about the only thing I can complain about so far. It startles me every time the sun comes out from behind a cloud. The interior designer for that should be drawn and quartered....

Ditto. You will never see it again as your brain will not pay attention to it as time goes by. Sort of like nose blindness, if you don't know what that is search it up. Or to save you time, you enter an environment, if there is a strong smell, as a few seconds passes by, you won't smell it anymore until you leave that area and enter again. Our complex human brain is very good at dealing with things like these.

Feel free to post pictures of the ride.

Congrats! As was said you will get used to it. I never even notice it anymore.

How did you like the E450 AT? I love those.

I bought it from an out of state dealer so did not test drive it, and the one I drove at my dealer was better equipped. The seats were the standard issue, which my back and tush didn't like too much. The main issue for changing was the standard LED headlights. I came out of a 2018 Volvo V90 and the high beams on the AT were ALMOST as bright as the low beams on the V90. Plus, no articulation and no cornering lights. I was uncomfortable driving at night even on very familiar roads. Others on the E450 forum have called the headlights mediocre.

But aside from that, it pretty much gave me everything I wanted from a practicality point of view. AND it is the nicest looking wagon on the market in my opinion.

You might see the driver and passenger side A/C ducts reflecting in the outside rear view mirrors as well...maybe not...that could be the aftermarket tint I have on my windows. Like retatt and W205C43PFL said, you'll get used to it.

Interesting that you decided to get an S-Class as a result, I mean we welcome you and an S-Class is an S-Class, it is a wise decision but have it crossed your mind at all to get the same W214 but with digital light as well? That said, another forum member, their forum name starts with an "R" forgot who exactly also had problems with the brightness of the digital lights of the 214, at least in stock US configuration. So glad the S-Class decision was made instead.

My initial plan was to spec order a 2025 E450 AT (previous vehicle was a 2018 Volvo V90 Ocean Race). Went to the dealer to discuss this...and saw this S-class. Always thought of the S-class as being a bit too frumpy for me (though at 78 I'm in the right age group). But this Mafioso black/red combo did not look frumpy. I basically bought the color combo almost as much as the model. Have to say it is a very noticeable step up. Oddly enough, although the MBUX is supposedly the same, I had virtually zero issues setting up the systems while the E450 was not as friendly. Never got the audio to save stations, maintain volume levels, etc.

The W223 generation S Class is much more youthful than older generations of the car. My wife and I are 43 and she always said my 222 made her feel like she was driving her fathers car, but she loves the 223.

Just did my first nighttime drive with the car. If you have never driven the E450 with regular LED lights, you have no idea what the improvement is with the S's digital lights. Dramatically better. (wonder if the optional digital light package on the E450 is as impressive)

Awesome! If you read the other thread linked they didn't like the digital lights either on the W214.
