1st B Service on 2023 W223

I've always taken my Mercedes back to the dealership for their A and B services. The first B service is due in 1500 miles on my new-to-me 2023 S580. A local dealership quoted me $850 for the service. The car will have ~ 15,000 miles on it around the end of February, so I've got some time to figure out what I want to do.
This is where I need your help. According to ChatGPT, $850 is right in the middle for what a dealership would charge in a large city like Atlanta. I called a local authorized Mercedes third party shop where they quoted me $189 for an oil change and $99 for an inspection. Anything beyond that they'll get authorization from me before doing the work.
What have you guys done for your A and B Service? Do you go back to the dealership? Or do you feel comfortable taking to a third party? Note: Doing the work myself isn't an option as I don't have the area/tools to do.
Dealership A where I bought my car quoted me $850 - that includes a brake flush and the two cabin air filters.
Dealership B where I bought my other two previous Mercedes, quoted me $500, but that doesn't include the flush or the filters. They charge $225 for the flush and $232 for the filters. They do give me 15% loyalty credit towards service. so that would be ~ $814 - very close to what Dealership A charges.
So, given that my car is a MY 2023 with ~ 15,000 miles, do you think a brake flush is needed?

As you can see thats $514.35 just in parts and materials. Even if that was reduced by half, that means at $280 they are essentially doing the service for nothing.

Here’s a realistic idea of what you might expect to pay for a Mercedes-B service on your 2023 W223 S-Class in the 30326 area, plus some local places where you can shop around for quotes:
💰 Expected Cost in Atlanta (Zip 30326)
Typical price range for Mercedes-B service:- Dealership average: around $600 – $900+ (varies by dealer specials, labor rates, and model).
- Independent Mercedes specialists: often lower, roughly $450 – $650 for the core B service.
- National/online aggregated data: general U.S. average for Service B falls between about $400 – $700 for most models.
- Some owners see dealer quotes near or above $800-$1,000, especially in big-city markets.
- Independent shops often cost significantly less and will do the same core tasks as the dealer if they’re Mercedes-certified or experienced.
Dealership: ~$650 – $950
Independent Mercedes-focused shop: ~$450 – $650

From my dealer website but it does not mention it includes a loaner and a pick up / drop off...
https://www.mercedesbenzraleigh.com/...-intervals.htmWhat is Service B?
With the first visit at approximately 20,000 miles or 1 year after the previous service - and then approximately every 20,000 miles or 2 years after that - Service B includes:
- Mercedes-Benz synthetic motor oil replacement
- Oil filter replacement
- All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle's year and model
- Tire inflation check and correction
- Cabin dust/combination filter replacement
- Brake component inspection
- Brake fluid exchange
- Reset maintenance counter

I'm not waiting around the dealer for anything longer than an hour...

I thought it had fixed itself earlier last week; it didn't. I had RBM check on it while it was in for its B Service, they thought they had fixed it, but they didn't. To be fair, they did say it was a shot in the dark on the updates they applied. Because I work in IT, I know sometimes a Hard Reset on electronics can sometimes fix all kinds of issues, so that's what I did yesterday. I unpaired/removed the car from the Mercedes app, then did a Hard Reset of MBUX, then repaired my car to the app. Issue hasn't occurred since. Let's hope that fixes it for good.

In your car, Go to the MBUX settings and choose Vehicle (I think), then scroll to the bottom and choose Reset. It'll warn you multiple times that your settings will be erased. Then choose ok.
It'll take a few minutes for the process to complete. Once it does, pair your car to the app using the QR code that shows up on the screen.
That's it. If you get lost, let me know and I can try to help.

Have any of you got this error when attempting to update your maps manually?
This is the error code I get when using Edge browser from my PC - M02PXVM
And when attempting from my iPhone using Safari - M51Q0ME
My fear is whatever this error is will prevent future over-the-air updates to my car, let along navigation update.
A quick Google search shows this MBWorld post in another forum - Manual map update - (NO_VIN) error - MBWorld.org Forums

I contacted my service advisor at RBM and asked them to Reset the timer for the Mercedes-me backend / Digital Extras provisioning module. To cover more bases, I also contacted the Digital Extras department at MBUSA and asked them to find the root cause of the issue mentioned in the error message noted in my previous post. They took my info, but confidence was low they would actually do anything. After consulting with ChatGPT, it suggested I call again and ask that my case be escalated to their Tier 2 team. I did and they escalated. This morning at about 7:30, all seems to be back to normal. What I don't know is if my dealer's efforts, the Digital Extras Team at MBUSA's efforts, or a combination of both fixed it, but it IS fixed.
By the way, I know my dealer updated the entire North American maps, so this is the first time I've seen the entire map for Canada, US, Mexico are "Up to date".
Also, I want to give my fellow Georgian Daniel @nearwater4me a shout out as I had pestered him a couple of times over the past couple of days to try it on his end to ensure it was not a system issue, but something specific to me. So, thank you again Daniel.
Mark
