The new 2027 S-Class: The Walkaround
It's fairly easy for anyone who had taken off a door panel before.
The 4D tweeters are designed to fit right on to the existing 3D tweeter on the sail panel.
Once installed, all it needs is an additional wiring from the existing LED module to the tweeter module box and tucked away in the door panel.
I took the opportunity to sound deaden the door panel to prevent any rattles down the road.
The clips easily break upon removing the door panel, so having some spare clips beforehand would be a good idea.
Otherwise, very straightforward.

I am very happy with this refresh. The car looks fantastic and they have fixed my #1 gripe about the W223, which was the touch sensor controls on the steering wheel.
I think this gives the S a more aggressive look, which I'm totally on board with.
I'm not a fan of lighted grills or emblems, so I am hopeful those can be disabled or left off a build sheet.
I have not spent any time driving the new E class so I don't have an opinion yet on the super screen. I hope it is still easy to reach for touch controls.

In general, I feel the front of the car now has more character. It was way too bland before.
I'm sure they messed with how tall they thought the grill should be, and I personally think it should've been just slightly smaller, but that's my preference.
I'm still unsure on the hyperscreen. On one hand, it looks ok, but it just doesn't look luxury at all. On the other hand, the wood look on the pre-fresh looked nice too, although somewhat strange in the angles and overall design of the flow. I still think 222/217 is the best interior and exterior design of all, but I do like the luxurious feel of the rest of the 223 cabin.

Now just imagine if they simply gave the W223 refresh just that horizontal or central screen, and finished the rest up with wood and $50 worth of metal-looking buttons!!!!
The look isn’t as obnoxious as I thought, other than the gloss black trim on the front. I wonder if that is part of an AMG or “night” package. The star DRL/headlighs look fine to me. The taillights, however, still look tacky and cheap to me like it’s trying too hard, but it’s not a dealbreaker. I actually don’t mind the lighted grill and emblem, especially if I can turn them off.
I also see that 21” wheels return. I wonder if they made a slight sizing change to stave off rampant blowouts. I still wouldn’t get them and stick with 20” wheels.
I’m looking forward to hearing more about the powertrain and other mechanical changes and improvements. I was content with getting another S500, but that entirely new engine intrigues me the same way the entirely new straight-six intrigued me into getting it.

I would not call this luxury just because there is wood on the dash, rather it's traditional. Bentley does have very nice wood options and I think some substantial buttons are nice to have but not as many as in a Bentley or RR. I will not beat up Mercedes for having big screens because they have had that 10 years ago and people didn't complain then.
I’m really curious what the MSRP’s will be.
Back in March of 2025, the MSRP for a 2025 were as follows:
Assuming the same incremental change for 2027 would be:

I think that’s a huge mistake if they raise the MSRP that much. They should keep the MSRP incrementally the same and option out the same as 2026 imo.
