The Escalade is nice. If I were to get another SUV it would be an Escalade or cheapskate me would get the GMC Yukon Denali. Cheapskate me would probably win.
I enjoyed it. When I'm in a sedan I feel like everyone is looking down on me with SUVs being so common.
C Class star headlights look much better because of reduced depth. The S Class star lights look like bug eyes at certain angles because of that depth. It’s absolutely terrible looking.

I really think Mbenz has nailed it with this front-end design for the C class. The front grill is also awesome.. kinda classic design but still modern. Would have looked great for the S. Things turned from boring and unattractive to a very elegant and C-class sharp front-end. I really like what they did with the C class. Not a big fan of the rear and I have to see it in person, but it is similar to the GLE/GLS new taillights which am not sure about. For the interior... am shocked!.. Now also the C-class gets the newer and better interior dash-screen and hardware than the S. If it functions similar to how it works in the GLC videos with zero bazels and similar tech, that would be phenomenal. Cosmetically it looks the same and I love that dash.
The only issue I see (for the US in particular) is that it comes with 800V. Not so good yet for us in the US even though it comes with an optional 400V converter, the charging speed of an 800V architecture, in our 400V charging stations in the US, will be very very slow, slower than a traditional 400V vehicle. It's just an indication that the auto-industry is moving faster than how the US is moving its own infrastructure. This will be an awesome car for those in europe and china with 800V stations!
Is the 3D option for the driver's display available on other models? I wonder if that's why it remains a separate screen for now?
Here is my latest thinking looking at all these dashboards...
The latest version single piece hyper screen is based a different dashboard design where the dash is nearly vertical and higher. The S-Class has nowhere that kind of dash angle (only the instrument cluster) or height to support the new screens. It's lower and angled and would require a complete redesign not just of the dash but also the flow into the door panels. You literally could not make that fit unless raising the dash by 5-6 inches....
Using the existing superscreen with the separate cluster from the E-Class made the most sense for a facelift.
The only thing that I would really like would be a matte screen option similar to Apple's nano texture displays.
The new C class EV does look really good. Even the rear looks better than the S class imho, at least the star lights versus the strange fat triangle they’re putting in the S class. It kind of gives Jetta vibes but I actually like the silhouette.
Pity it's not a hatchback.... And why continue the fake exhaust design? For the ICE variant??
I guess you were comparing to the EQS by chance in terms of the liftback design, I mean traditional sedans are fine, the new EV C-Class has a coupe like style, they could had did the same perhaps and made it a liftback without really affecting the design? Perhaps.
It will be cool if there is a W223 wagon but I understand that probably won't sell well being very niche.
MB has the better looking interior by far
BMW has the better looking exterior
I don't think that the exterior looks better than the S-Class. Not even close. I do like the dual paint colors on that car but like the Maybach better in dual color. The front-end has much improved by basically hiding the actual headlights in the black trim but this is still just a big boxy car.

The 3D option is also optional on the W214 E-Class actually, to answer your question.

I mean, I like them both, perhaps maybe because the W223 is a wider car so it looks good in its own right. I just wish they didn't put the piano gloss bar across inspired by the EQ models though connecting the taillights on the new C EV. That said, I am not sure if putting chrome replacing that would look good. I understand people say MB "copied" Mazda with the "Round shaped" taillights but if you think about it, doesn't it look like it matches the 3-pointed star company logo outer ring well? Perhaps Mazda got the inspiration of the Rounded taillights from the taillights of Ferraris? Back to MB for a sec, I think the rounded taillights first debuted on the CLA EV concept if I recalled correctly.

I like the grille too and one of my favourite MB grilles for a long time. It is definitely a modern twist to their classic grille with LEDs etc. I too believe the infotainment and interior general layout is the same integration as the GLC EV as expected it is just the driving position is different perhaps.
Speaking of vans, since MB is entering the van market in the USA again, perhaps the VLE will be a good replacement for that purpose. Of course it will depend on the price as well.
