went out to atl. dragway last night for Fast Friday presented by Year One. this was my first time to run the 55 w/ the new mods. the track is about 1400ft above sea level, so i knew i wouldnt get the best time possible. i got 3 runs b/c the place was packed but i had a great time anyway. the 1st run was 12.6 @ 112 with a 2.02 60ft time. 2nd run was the best of the night with a 12.55 @ 112.30 with a 1.996 60ft time. i thought that 60ft time was pretty impressive for a car that size. last run was terrible b/c i couldnt find traction, 12.9 @ 111.

best run time slip

r/t .614
60' 1.996
330 5.4
1/8 8.165
mph 90.79
1000 10.551
1/4 12.554
mph 112.30

method: power brake to 1500rpm and left traction control on, left tire pressure alone

Great times!!! Congratulations!

I'm happy to see an S55 putting down some mid-12 sec times.

Overall, do you have any impressions (likes/dislikes) about the K2?

What does a stock S55 Kompressor do in the 1/4 on average. Is this guy for real here: http://www.dragtimes.com/Mercedes-Be...slip-3462.html

i love everything about my k2 mods, lsd &i/c pump included. turning esp off is not really an option anymore unless i want new tires after 5 thousand miles. but i love the fact that i have a car this size and that fast.

killer,
i tried to email that guy about his s55 to see if he was for real about that time, but of course i got no response. i'm a lil skeptical myself about that one

Yeah, that doen't suprise me about him not responding. Either that car isn't stock, or he is lying.

if you use the nhra correction factor for altitude your run wasn't bad...

for 1400 feet above sea level...multiply your et by .9848 and your mph by 1.0143.

12.55 multiplied by .9848 = 12.36!

if you flat foot the gas pedal at the starting line and your esp is kicking in, you have room for improvement in your 60' times which = better et!

you should be able to 60' mid to high 1.8's...every tenth in 60' times usually generates a better et by 2 tenths...if not a little more.

take your 1.99 down to a 1.89...possible mid 12.30's...use the correction formula and you've got a low 12 second s-class!!

this is my $.02 cents worth!

Have you checked with the E55 guys on what to expect with K2 ? It might be worth it if you haven't. I don't know anything but my casual survey makes me wonder whether you shouldn't be seeing higher trap speed, which seems to be a more reliable indicator regardless of time. My guess would be 116 for trap speed for the S55 based on E55 over 120 with the K2

i was wondering the same thing about my trap times. i went back to the track and ran even faster with a well prepped track. running 12.4 but still trapping at 111, so i dont know what the issue is. could be the boost being at 16.5 up from 11 doesnt really kick till higher speeds( just guessing)

you should notice that better 60' times generate less mph...higher 60' will have higher mph.

if you're running 12.40's and still have the same mph i'd say you going good...obviously your 60' times have come down! 12.40's...awesome ride!
