Sold my S55
Went with a CL600. The S55 is an awesome machine but I never quite had a passion for the looks of mine (it was silver w/ash leather).....but I was so intoxicated with the engine during the test drive I bought it anyways!!
I'll still troll the S55 forum...good chattin' with you guys!
Oh--a couple of pics of the replacement car and my ex-S55--

Thats a great looking car, wheels aren't my type but I like the car. So do you have plans for new shoes? Tuning? Etc? How many miles are on it? What year is your CL? I can't tell if those are projectors or not. I like the sport pacakge too! That white catches my eye. Looks good.

Thanks Killer....
The car has 34k miles (a bit high), but whoever owned it originally took great care of it because it is in excellent shape. I am getting the extended warranty as I can't imagine the repair bills for the V12.
The color combo really drew me to the car. It really stands out among the sea of silver benzes down here in S Florida.
Still undecided about the wheels myself. However, my first mod will be the ECU and trans upgrade from Renntech. Can't pull it off financially until Christmas though....

It's an 03, and I'm just not sure if the wheels are the best match for the car, but I think they are ok, and it will be a while before I could afford different ones anyway. Overall though, I'm really happy with the looks of it.
I gave the car the first bit of power today and it instantly tried to liquefy the tires and the traction control came on big time. Looks like a launch will be a bit trickier with the V-12 TT than in the S55......I guess it will take more practice!

Best of luck with the new ride! I love the color.......as far as the wheels are concerned, I think it looks just fine! Not to much bling but, just enough to make it look "sporty"!

I would've been very happy with a CL55 just as much as the CL600. The CL600 was for sale at the right price with the options I wanted so I went for it. Plus, I'd never owned a V-12 TT and I thought it would be a neat change of pace. If there is anything I miss from the S55 it is the dynamic seats and the manual mode w/steering wheel buttons for shifting.
After having lived with both cars, I'd say the S55 had more instant power with just a little prodding of the gas, whereas the 600 needs a bit more urging and pedal effort to get motivated, but then will respond with even more thrust than my old 55. The 600 definetly seems more tuned towards overall smoothness.
Either way, Mercedes Benz is producing some great cars with outrageous power. Gotta love it!!!
