Clear wheels on a Mercedes?? I'd give it two weeks before they are completely black with brake dust. Still cool none the less.

Those wheels look great but there would be a problem with the breaks!! No airflow means that the breaks will heat up and would be useless when needed!!

Creativity is there, however on the street brakes need airflow. Without it they will overheat.

i couldn't imagine going even a day without brake dust looking like ****. and the heat of the brakes would probably cause some kind of warp/burn in the surface of the backside, space shuttle or not. cool show idea though...

2011 E350 Cabriolet..White and Almond Mocha
Huh...

We now are selling wheel covers that don't cover the wheels and show the brake drums and callipers, that is if the brake dust isn't too thick. Oh, but that's not a problem, just have your mechanic clean them every three weeks or so with some air...yeah

As Barnum once said..."there is a sucker born every minute" and it seems at SEMA, there are a lot for the mod makers to choose from....

To each his own....

i am not impressed with them but for those who are, just put on some of those akebono brake pads and you wont have a brake dust issue. as far as airflow, you can make air vents that direct air towards your rotors. before you guys bash about this idea, this is what car manufactures also do including racing teams. the only problem with that is that it disturbs the airflow that the car manufacture initially directed the air towards so you will loose aerodynacmic properties. something that only a wind tunnel can tune in correctly.

but again, i dont like the wheels.

Still looking...
I like them better than spinners.

And as far as airflow, I'm sure slats or holes could be cut into it the composite (which I don't know what it is, but would have to guess it is feasible) w/o effecting strength that much. Cleaning...well...

I'd also like to know how much they weigh compared to similarly sized rims.
