Opinion on my S65

Of course when I purchased this car this thought ran across my mind...

Custom Wheels, to make it look a little bit more unique..

Here is the website, so tell me what you guys think of these Lowenhart LT5's on this S class...

THIS IS ONLY AN IDEA!!! I WOULD LIKE SOME OPINIONS AND SOME FEEDBACK ON PUTTING CUSTOM 20 or 22's on THIS CAR.

Not really feelin' the LT5's either. I'm feelin' the LT1's though. if they make 'em in 20" I might consider 'em myself

The Maya 22" MRS in Diamond Black would be hot on your S65 IMO. I'm considering that same wheel in Anthracite for my car.

Not too fond of those. Have you looked at the 5-spokes offered by MB?

I'm not really a fan of the maya wheels with the diamond cut with the black background, reminds me of racer stlye wheels. Any way check a few of these wheels out, they are all multi piece forged wheels, which are light in weight and can support the weight of your vehicle.

I think your stock wheels look great, but I'm a big fan of the Trinity Monoblock 5s (bottom row, 4th over). Just a thought...

Picking wheels is a hard thing to do, IMO. It's hard to tell if they will look good in real life vs. a picture.

I am also debating on 20's or 22's, I don't really want to ruin the ride.

What do you guys think about 22's?

Best suited to Chevy Tahoes. The S65 is a classy and understated ride. Keep it stock.

Work in Progress
You are going to get many different opinions on whether to keep your car stock vs. customized. Bottom line, this is your car and you need to do what makes you happy. That being said, I like the pics that D2 posted above. Those are quality wheels that suit your car. IMO, I'd stay away from the Lowenharts.

A good freind of mine has a 550 on 22's and the ride is pretty smooth. Going over severe potholes you could feel the difference, but for the most part the ride was ok.

Why Lowenharts? My dealer told me to get Lowenharts or Maya, because they are quality rims that match up to the Benz wheels....

Now whether they are telling me the truth or not is a different story..

DO NOT go any more than 20, and thats big already. Im sorry, but you got an S65, if you go any bigger you are seriously interfering with that car's performance. Keep in mind that what you have is not only a baller-mobile, it is a very high performance car, and you should try to find a balance between the two. If you're going to go that big, you might as well have gotten an S550.

I think the GFG Spiello 6 is a very nice clean aggressive wheel for the S65, without sacrificing the class of a 180k uber saloon. Whatever route you choose, that's what I personally would keep as the focus....something that creates a more aggressive stance (the stock S65 wheels just aren't that imposing), but doesn't detract from how amazingly polished and classy the car is. Understated class...a wolf in sheep's clothing, that's what the fastest sedan in the world is all about. Strap a set of 22" chrome spinners on her and the concept is lost. From the AMG website you can download an accessories catalogue that gives some nice options for S65 wheels. You want people to look at it with envy, not look at it and think "that guy wants me to envy him".

20's are the max I'd go.
I'd go with something slick and a nice (not excessive) lip in the rear, and almost no lip in the front.
Also, I'd go for the VIP look, nice full faced and stretched tire

I would like to import some wheels from over seas... Does anyone know a website I can do that with? I want to see if I can get something that nobody has around here....

Check out these wheels my partner imported from Italy for his CL.. 310 Motoring got them in for him.

Peronally, I wasn't a big fan of them, but it's kind of cool cause you NEVER see that wheel around.

The wheels are okay, I wouldn't buy them over a set of HRE or Brabus wheels, but the rarity would be worth something, especially on the 65, plus the finish is very nice. To be frank though, I think your partner should speak with 310 about his body kit, or wherever it was installed, the kit isn't aligned and neither is the hood, maybe it was hit? I see too many people pay for high-quality auto work and not recieve it, such a shame.

THE CAR WAS ROLLED!!

He was T-boned by a dumptruck that ran a red light and rolled. He had his 2 kids in the car and his wife.. They all walked away without a scratch.

These wheels look a lot better in real life...

He traded this car in with his CLS55 on the SLR after he wrecked it.

Lowenhart and Maya are made by the same OEM manufacturer in Japan. Both of them have relatively speaking weak barrels that bend easily if you hit a pot hole. If you want a more classy look, try the 9 series of HRE or the new 89X series
