That interior is sooo awesome.

Any ext. differences compared to S550 w/AMG package other than the exhaust cut outs?

That might be the 030 Performance package, which includes black piano lacquer for all wood trim. In Europe it's possible to order designo interior options separately, but the black wood is included in code 030.

I love the piano lacquer, especially with white leather, but not for an AMG. I don't understand why AMG product marketing thinks it's "sporty." I can see it for the carbon fiber trim in the CL63-030, but not the deco-piano-bar look of the black lacquer. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing anyone who likes the look for an S63. I'm just criticizing AMG for making it mandatory for anyone who wants the Performance package. It implies marketing is in charge of the asylum.

Lots of logical inconsistencies/challenges w/marketing an S63/65 (esp vs an also excellent S600).....many S63/65 (and S600) are used for limo duty in NYC/London/LA (>70yo guys seem to like more sedate look of 600, whereas <70yo guys tend to want a cooler-looking limo like 63/65).....or for guys ferrying wife/family/another couple to dinner, etc....situations that make spirited driving highly unlikely....there is a CL63 030 commuter coupe available for slightly more spirited-driving-focused titans, right?

Would argue wood/leather steering wheel of S65 (and S63 shown in pics) is puzzling vs a perf-posing limo; it's identical steering wheel as that of the codger's 600 .....and prob view blk ash wood/blk lacquer (rather than more codgerly S600 wood) to make most sense vs a zoomy-looking sedan/limo...but cf trim may be a bit much for a limo.....

its a good place to live if you are rich.... it might sound bland but its true... The job market is very underdeveloped, the grey economy still accounts for at least half of gnp. Housing is relatively cheap, but after joining the euro there is a lot of speculation and prices are rising exponentially. Expect 1sq meter (whats that , 9sq feet?) to retail for about 2000$ now... it was only around 400$ 18 months ago

Are my eyes deceiving me, or does this AMG S have paddles in lieu of buttons for shifting? That is a nice interior--fits the AMG personality of the vehicle.

How are Bulgarian roads off-topic in a thread about AMGs in Bulgaria?

in Europe you can get it as a single option (1550euro for the S63 in bulgaria)... In the USA i think you have to go with a full designo package

Yes, for a US S65 you can get black lacquer trim only as part of the designo Mystic White package. On the S63, it will come with the 030 Performance package as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 030 available for the 2008 S65 as well. It would seem odd otherwise, if only for a S63-030 having a faster Vmax than would be available on an S65.

In Europe you can order designo leather, paint and wood trim à la carte. Americans can't be trusted; the chances of us ordering a hideous combination are too high. Because so many high-end cars are leased here, MB Financial would inherit these unsellable fashion statements.

Question

When you order the wood / leather steering wheel on the S63 and S65, do you still get the paddle shifts like on the AMG steering wheel?

No. Paddles are only on leather wheel. Wood/leather has buttons.
