Any thoughts looking to get a 2006 S65 or S550 Sport

What would you do, the deals on the 2006 S65 are great

I love the new bodystyle, but I'd go with smashing performance over looks any day.

To even compare them, the S550 would have to have ABC as well. Then the tradeoff is new design (with a lot of very nice things going for it) and improved reliablity versus 738 ft-lbs, massive brakes, aniline leather and polished wood everywhere at a similar price.

The jet-propelled feeling is very addictive. The alignment of the stars (MB's stupidly filling the pipeline with W220 S65s and then immediately releasing the S221 S65) make this a rare opportunity. I am thrilled I was able to take advantage of it.

I'd take an S550 4-matic (jersey gets its share of snow in the winter)...but the S65 iwould definitely be tempting

I'm a newbie here, but was also in the same boat except another option was a new E63. I previously owned a C32 and needed something bigger with the wife and an infant. We went with the 2006 S65 because of a good deal and the awesome power. Once you've owned an AMG, it's hard going back to a "regular" MB.

I'd go for the S65, its expensive but I love its tremendous Torque and Performance.

you can find an 06 s65 at the same or almost cheaper than a brand new 08 s550
