Just got a Majestic Black S63
I remember it was about 20 seconds long while it stayed at 7000, should I worry about the damage? I think it shouldn't be over 4500 rpm before 1000 miles break-in, thanks for any advice.

Even though you are nto done with your break in, I doubt you will have any issues. They have so many safe guards to keep you from blowing up the engine it is not even funny!

thanks in advance.

I had a Lexus LS, still have the SC430, their steerings were lose too, but after I tighted the steering preload, it feels much tighter, close to BMW, don't know if S63 has the preload adjustment, but BMWs don't have the adjustment.

Re: steering issue.....presume you're driving car in Sport mode and tire P's are to-spec....may want to drive a few hundred mis to better eval steering/chassis balance/damping vs bumpy/hilly high-speed fwys/mtn twisties/routine urban driving.....

As an avg amateur driver, would argue overall steering/chassis precision/damping of CL63 is superior/more confidence-inspiring vs that of the excellent 997TT (had previously commuted via 997TT some 3K mis....and, prior to that, 996TTS some 15K mis) on many stretches of typical urban fwys....
Steering/chassis calibrations are obviously a series of trade-offs vs varying real-world roads/driver preferences (some stuff that works marvelously on a dry, smooth private track is suboptimal on real-world roads).....IMO, AMG has engineered world's most brilliantly-balanced car for dynamic daily/wkend driving vs CA pavement conditions.....but would be curious if your impressions change after 500mis or so....have driven CL63 some 8K mis to-date and actually, over time, have become more impressed w/overall chassis balance than after my initial excellent impressions....
My perception of 63's "light" steering feel is driven by the lightness of the 63 motor over the wheels....e.g., whenever I drive an S/CL 600/65, I immediately sense the heaviness of the 250lb heavier V12 motor over the wheels and its (IMO negative) impact on steering feel...
Perhaps some of us are mixing up heaviness/lightness vs overall steering precision and/or immediate-off-center steering precision....

Also, IIRC, S/CL have a variable-ratio steering setup (similar to 997TT's...and unlike 996TTS), which, if true, requires some mental calibration to adjust to its nonlinear nuances....e.g., I believe Ferrari 599/Scud still have the linear steering setup....
WSH, I remember now, the 750Li got a little tighter over first few months, same as my 2007 650i vert, my M6 has only 1k miles, so can't tell, but it's tightest steering of all for now, hope S63 will change a little like my 750 and 650.
