I am about to purchase a new S63. I have found 1 car with the performance package its not my favorite color is the only problem. Is the performance package a must have for a motorhead type person is the susp. that different or can you only tell on a track I will not be taking this car to mid ohio or any other track to do hotlaps in I just want a fun car.
Please help

The S63 performance package has forged wheels, black lacquer trim and a raised maximum speed limiter. Not a whole lot for performance compared wtih the package on other models.

If the seller is telling you the Performance Package includes a different suspension, he is either misinformed or lying. The wheels are nice. Personally, I find the black lacquer out of character with an AMG. The carbon fiber they used on the CL made much more sense. But for the S63, the Performance Package was really a Sporty Styling Package.

Agree....030 Perf Package on S/CL is largely an optics option w/no material change to perf/chassis....
IMO, 030 wheels are some of best-looking wheels anywhere and signif improve appce of car, esp accentuating the industrial art of AMG S/CL's high-powered brakes and calipers....does non-030 S63 have burl walnut interior trim...or is blk wood available? Would argue burl walnut (or any lt-colored wood) makes zero sense vs perf ethos of an AMG....
May want to also view an S63 w/o 030 (or at least see pics on ebay if more convenient) to judge relative appce of wheels and interior wood trim....
030 wheels are some 3.5lbs each lighter (and stronger) than non-030 wheels...so likely some minor improvement in braking/handling/accel b/c of reduced rotating masses....

I got the 030 package for the Black wood and wheels. I am so glad I did. IMO the black wood with my black interior make the car look very classy. Makes it feel less plasticy and cheap.
