First service for S65?

I've ordered a new S65 for delivery next week. When is the first service due on this car? The salesman doesn't seem too sure as he hasn't sold one before.

I'll post pics as soon as it arrives.

Congrats

Will this be an '08 or '09 S65? Which colors/specs have you chosen? In Aus, do S65s come w/030 wheels and leather sport steering wheel? Any new choices of interior trim, like blk wood/cf, instead of burl walnut? Am eagerly awaiting my Sept build '09 CL65 (silver/blk/cf/030 wheels/sport steering wheel)....

At least in US, svc sched is free mtce chk at 1-3K mis (top off fluids, chk tire wear patterns, etc) and oil change at 10K mis....suspect will need to replace rear tires at 7-8K mis anyway....

Thanks for service info. I have 3,000km trip coming up in next couple of weeks.

Car was ordered ex-stock - silver/black. Only one for sale in Australia so no choice on colour Wheels are 20" and have titanium finish (not sure of name) although other style is available and steering wheel has no wood - all leather. Not sure of wood dash trim - I did see the car but only briefly as I hadn't planned to buy it, but decided to at the last moment before a tax increase.

Advice for long trips w/65, esp outside major urban regions....would keep Mobil 1 Syn oil on-hand, as these motors tend to be rather variable in oil burn rates, esp in first 5K mis....

Also, would pre-plan potential places to source replacement tires if have flat.....e.g., on any given day in SF/LA, one often cannot source 20" replacement tires for AMG S/CL overnt if have a flat.....seems to be a periodic shortage of perf 20" tires, even in major mkts.....

My S65 required the first service at 1,000 miles. Next one was about 7,500 miles. I have only had to do it one other time and that happened around the 20,000 mile mark. This car has been pretty much maintenance free for me. Enjoy the vehicle and abuse that engine.

I have 24,000 miles on my 07 S65 and I've only had to add a 1 quart of oil 1 time. That was on a 3,000 mile road rally in 5 days though... I beat the car up pretty good on those 3,000 miles.

OK, now I'm confused. Does anyone have their owner's manual or service booklet handy? I'm keen to comply with the service requirements but I'd like to do this 3,000km trip in the new car.

Just asked a couple of colleagues in my office who drive '08 S65s.....mtce chk is at 1-3K mis (just to top off fluids, chk wear patterns) and first oil change is at 10K mis....

They've each owned multiple new 65s (and 63s) in past....some copies slurp oil, esp in first few K mis...other copies, not really....

I see no reason why your trip would be problematic vs that mtce sched

I thought the car's computer is supposed to tell you when you are due for scheduled maintenance based on your driving habits and conditions, so it should be somewhat variable for everybody.

Cool - thanks.

Edit: And I'll pack some oil.

Here's where we are staying.
