s63 vs e63

I am thinking of buying an e63 sedan, had thought for a minute about an e63 wagon but decided a sedan makes more sense for me. I recently had and sold an s63 and liked the car but felt it was a bit too big for my needs and felt the car had to be pushed a bit hard to really be in the sweet spot. Curious if anybody has had both the e63 and s63 and how they would compare the 2. I am just hoping the e63 will be a bit more nimble and fun and not feel as big and heavy.

Although I never owned any of those two, I strongly believe the E63 will make you more happy when it comes to your "need for speed"..

I'm filling my experience-gap with pure physics here:

Same engine(power) + less weight = better performance.

You can see it already in the posted 0-60 times: 4.5 on the S63 vs. the 4.3 on the E63.

So if (what's obviously the case) you focus more on performance instead of comfort, you made the right move..

Why don't you consider a CLS 63? The E, for me, is not even in the running as it appears too plain, at least until the new one comes in.

I have an S63 and while its a great car its not that quick. I dont at all believe it hits 60 in 4.5 seconds. I think it is over 5 seconds for sure. Edmunds did test an S63 (no one else has) and they clocked it well over 5 seconds to 60.

This motor does not belong in this car. I love the engine but with nearly 5k lbs to haul around it really starts to show its lack of torque quickly. Off the line its dead. An E63 will destroy the S63 but the S is such an amazing car for long drives and complete comfort.

Depends what you want. I had already had 3 W211's so after the E55 it was time for a change.

S63 does sound nice for a big tank though.
