current 2005/2006 S55 prices

hi all,
been enjoying my 2002 S55 and watching prices of the newer AMGs drop.
i've seen some 05/06 S55's, but there doesn't seem to be too many - mostly 2003's. curious what you guys are seeing for prices - $30k-ish? to me, given that 2005/2006 S65's are going for as low as $50k-$55k, the S55 should be much less?
my challenge is that i really like the newer AMGs, but it's also really nice having my 6-7yr old S55 that i can drive around daily and not worry about door dings/scratches/kids eating in the back seat, etc. i guess that's the benefit of having a used car that's worth $15k in today's market.
happy holidays to all!
Patrick

Something on 4 wheels..
You can get a very good deal on a 2005/6 S55 right now (and an even better one in the future) in the low $30Ks.

Look at that one, OFFERED by a dealer at $35K and it's CPOed, has Distronic, Keyless-Go and elec. Rear-Seating:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e=&cardist=205

Took me less than a minute to find it, right below that offer is the next CPOed one for $2K more.

And remember, those prices are everything but carved in stone.

You might also look at the S600 - maybe with AMG-package..

It's pretty crazy that an 06 E55 is only about $10k less than an 06 S65 when the S65 was almost double the price new. I'd like to get an S65 myself

My thoughts exactly- my dealer was asking 88k for my flawless '06 S65 with 30k miles-I offered then 60k and ended up paying 64k for it about 5 months ago. I looked last week and it seems you can pick up a low mileage, warrantied 220 S65 now for about 55-58k?........ That's a deal considering the sticker price of 180k. The most important thing here (as most of us know) is the warranty. I had mine CPO'd to give me another year. There's no way I'd own one of these things w/o a warrranty. My 65 is the best vehicle purchase I've ever made, end of story.

That's true - but I don't think it's likely that the dealer turned away the offer due to $3K. I mean, everybody knows that the advertised prices won't be paid in this economy - no matter how low they are. Negotiation often starts at 10-15% less...

AMG
I'm sure it probably sold if it was only advertised for 3k higher.
