What is my 2008 S63 worth?

Just picked up a new 09 S600 to replace my 08 S63. Any ideas on the value of my S63? The dealer offered me a whopping 72,000. For that much Id rather just keep it as a second car...did the AMG cars really tank that fast? Only 12k miles too

Kind of ridiculous to have two of almost the same exact cars. Cut your losses, they will surely continue to tank.

So LathamLaw, what are you going to do? Keeping both, trading in the S63? What?

Heavens yes. My 07 S600 probably won't pull $60K on trade. They can kiss my a** before I'd give them my car for that. I won't trade my car off. Will keep it till the wheels fall off.

Just call or visit a bunch of dealers. One should give you a better offer, though there is chance it may still not be what you want to hear.

No dice, right about now you would be lucky to get the 72K. I think (or we should be) we are aware of the current market on luxury vehicles. Inventory for months of new ones are sitting up, with no buyers, let alone used.

Tanking? Dude it's more like the market has been torpedoed, nuked, and sinking to the bottom.

If you must sell, do so but don't expect a profit off of it. Break even or loss is the norm now.

I hear ya trumpet1. I have been thinking about this very same thing lately - mostly while having visions of my car looking a little aged when the new S-Class AMG models come out...........

I just hope my visions are just that and when the new ones do come out - mine still has an edge looks wise (kind of like when the 2002 7 series came out)

$72k? Sounds like a load of horse *****.

Show them this and then ask them to kiss your a$$.

KBB is about as "official" as it gets.

$106k-$112k is about where it should be depending on your luck. Trust me - S63 AMG's are not a dime a dozen and they're definitely not common. They are very desireable, especially if maintained well. When I was looking for mine, there was only 1 (yes, ONE) in all of TX with the options and colors I wanted!

With the US release of the S/CL63's occurring in Spring 2007, the first 24 month leases should be coming due very shortly. It should be interesting to see what impact the additional units will have on an already "soft" high end resale market. Leasing in general has suffered due to manufacturer viability (i.e. GM, etc). This only exacerbates a weak economic market where residual values are pure guesswork, and the best buys have yet to appear.

kbb is off by a lot in this market. The dealer should offer what manheim brings, maybe a bit more sometimes. ( a bit means $2-3k more).

I listed auction results for that car. Thats "official" numbers. the dealer for 72k is a robber. NO s63 has sold that low. THey want to make a $25k profit off him.

and FYI manheim gives approx values of what the car is worth in a year from todays date.

auction is $65k and retail is about $71k. So in march 2010 thats what the prices should be close to

^ not too sure about that, new 08s were being discounted over 27k when the 09 S63 was out...making special price in the 106k range, and with the 2010s coming out in the near future...

I don't know - and maybe you had some good reasons for this exchange - but I would have waited for the MY2010...
