s65 ecu tune upgrade

hey just got a 2006 s65 wanted to get an ecu tune. Which company is best at doing this? Prices would be great! Also any other performance upgrade tips would be appreciated. Dont want to spend too much though. I live in socal L.A AREA if you know any good tuners close by (1-2 hours away) let me know.

Thanks

Not sure about the S65.

But for S600, powerchip worked well for me and is the best bang for the buck. There is a new thing from Renntech that allows people to choose different maps that looks enticing but in the end I'd rather save the money to spend on something else.

razb0yn1k23: 600 and 65 share the same ECU.

We use Powerchip for our software and are in Newport Beach, about 40 miles South. I can make arrangements to get your car tuned.

Feel free to call me with any questions.

Ummbefore u go too much further with that statement, read how Busa's car made more power than any other stock 65 with more boost too. He got his money back, and still claims his car is stock(he bought it used and therefore can't confirm it).

There is always the big names in Mercedes tuning..... they are more expensive, but do offer very high quality products and customer service:

- RennTech
- Kleemann
- MKB
- Brabus

Research each very carefully and feel free to PM members on the boards to get more insight information.

Good luck....

Thanks Nick!

There is always two sides to a story.

Here is my side.

Busa has gotten a refund and he still has Powerchip tune in his car.

His car seems to be doing very well. 122MPH in a quarter is good indication to that.

He was very happy with it and did not have a problem expressing that to me and Travis at PC, numerous time. Somewhere along the line his finances has changed and all of the sudden his car is slow and now it is trash time. In the end he made the decission to trash me two months after getting his credit meanwhile keeping the product.
