Jerry, LET, Eurocharged. Nice work fellas

Its well known that these transmissions can handle a ton of power. At what point will stuff start to fail in the trans is a good question. I think the first thing you will notice is a shift delay from gear to gear as the trans slips when shifting into another gear under heavy throttle.

If you feel this symptom go to your dealer any buy the trans dipstick. A slipping MB trans will have more than normal metal flake in the fluid. You will be able to see it when you check your trans fluid. Not to mention a good working MB 722 trans will still have a reddish color to it. A slipping one will be tinted a grayish color from heat and metal that is in the fluid.

As most of you know a slipping transmission will cause a lot of heat and will only lead to other things going wrong.

If I could give any advice. If you see this dark colored fluid with metal flakes along with the shift delay symptom. DONT run off and get your transmission fluid changed. You will remove alot of metal flake that the trans is using to help shift the car.
I always hear stories of people changing their trans fluid and then their trans craps out. You dont want that.

If anyone has trans slip problems, I would strongly recommend contacting Southern Hotrods, Paramount Performance Transmission, or Renntech for some trans mods to meet your power needs.

just my $.02

WOW, am I glad to see how great this worked out for you Busa196. I've read the threads and seen the comments made...I put that all aside now though as it's time to wonder if this can be the first S class into the 10s without spray. Roger Ver's car did 11.067 on race gas I believe as he had a Renntech race gas tune.

This is a 93 pump tune as I'm guessing as nothing stated it was tuned as a race gas tune. If there is one thing that is so important, it's having safe AFRs. Props to LET/Eurocharged for keeping the AFRs in the safe range and at the same time put on some insane torque.

This new gain of torque and power hopefully propel you into the 10s with some DRs or Slicks and a good launch. Now your car is even more savage to any unsuspecting car. How bad is it to commit damage on the street to other cars while getting a massage from your car, luggage in the trunk and be able to spaciously fit your family.

I believe Roger also had the RennTech airbox (according to DragTimes).

My car was indeed on 93 octane and is completely stock other than the ECU tune.

I don't know if the additional power is enough to get me into the 10's....that's a half-second faster than my previous best. I think I'd be extremely lucky if I managed to break into the sub 11 category......and that's assuming that I can perform the proper John Force burnout without torque management taking over and killing the burnout process. This was an issue on my previous tune, but Jerry assures me that this will not be an issue with this tune. Well see........

Regardless, I've got a 5k lb 4-door with every luxury you can imagine, that's arguably the safest sedan in the world that you could fit a family of 5 into......and it would embarrass 95% of other "true" sports cars out there. I'll take that anyday.....even at low 11's

You explained the ENTIRE reason why I drive an S600 now. Oh yeah, and its wife approved Although I believe our cars, THANKS Jerry, are now 98% faster

Good luck at the track my friend.

Busa: I am glad that you finally got the ECU tune done correctly. I was getting worried that you wouldn't try another time. The amount of money and aggravation you went through should finally pay off. Please shoot some videos at the drag strip when you get a chance.

Hat's off to LET for the best numbers I have ever seen.

Well low 11s on pump gas alone will be great. If that 11.5 turns to a 11.2x or so, you definitely can't complain. I agree 100% about your last statement, that line alone is what makes the S-Class with the V12TT so nasty. Btw, you are right and I forgot to mention, Roger Ver did have a Renntech Airbox. I wonder if you add a coolant reservoir and the CM30 for additional cooling what will happen, none the less it will be great to see how things at the strip turn out.

I should of just said if the car had the patented "TheRicker" mods. You're going to them for your tune aren't you.

I have "only" destroyed one diff....but it wasn't the differential that actually broke. It was the pinion. It sheared off before it enters the area of the pinion seal. It may have been a casting flaw of some sort and the massive torque made this happen. I have two broken axles under my belt as well. One passenger and one drivers axle. These two sheared off at the splines where the axle goes through the hub. One of the axles was broken without N20. Also, my tranny isn't doing well coping with a full boost launch and goes briefly into limp mode when you press it too hard. On the street there are no issues and it runs great. Sub 1.65 launches do take their toll as Jason has stated. Time to get an S65 and do the same mods. They are almost cheap enough for me to justify it with the wife. Ha.

Thanks for clarifying, Stephen. Any idea of how much hp/tq you're putting down? I just had LET tune my SL600 this past weekend.

yeah man. the 60-130 deal sounds like fun. I would do that if you could find a place we could do this without being put under the jail. I will hook up my N20 again for that run and do it with and without N20. That would take some things out of the equation since a launch is not necessary. How does the timing start? Do you guys look at the V-box data at the time when the car actually starts moving past 60mph to 60.01mph?

Something like that although you can go WOT before 60 to get things rolling of course, also the maximum downhill slope allowed is 3%, anything more and the run is disqualified and can't be posted on the list.

After several missed tries I finaly bough a 2007 S65 and while driving it to Jacksonville from Naples in florida tried to push it to feel its power from 40 mph and it while it was fast it felt much more civilized that what I read about everywhere.

I will bet it by the end of March and I want to do the ECU tune, but after reading this I will like to know what you charge for something like this. I kjow several Dynis here that can be used.

You might try emailing sales@eurocharged.com as mentioned in the thread.

Did you realize all of those posts in this thread were from 2009? Who knows who may or may not still be around watching?
