anyways all i need to do is trim the 60 feet and get into 11's. can't wait!
anyways more updates later

hey..hey... not ONLY 12 seconds, first you need to take in consideration of drag radials, AND the weight difference. my car is 1000/b heavier than the e55. on all season tires running 117.74 mph is not bad in my opinion. I did not full throttle right of the bat, i had to *roll in the throttle*. If i had drag radials i'm sure its a whole difference story. but i am CERTAIN, with more practice i can definitely hit 11.70 no problem.

agree with everything else except " my car is 1000lb heavier than e55"..

lets do the math.. 4800 - 1000 = 3800

Factory saidS:
weight:

e55 - 4100
s55 - 4300..

200lbs difference..

That's a very strong time, and a solid trap. DRs would yield a very fast ET. Your launch technique is what many E55 guys use, you can't mash the throttle right away, you roll into it like you stated.

10 sec E55s were spraying and 2 cars are listed on dragtimes in the 10s w/spray, the rest is in 11s, fastest all boost E55s are in 11.0x territory. The fastest S55 listed on dragtimes did 11.921, I expect Shango to crush that since he ran 12.15 with 117 on street tires. Weighing 4800lbs a Shango stated (600-700lbs over the E55 hurts a bit as well). I'm sure he can't wait to go up there again with some drag radials. When will you pickup some mods?

yes... +1 for being reasonable... haha anyways the first thing i need to do is cooling. no matter what the other s55's members on this board said about our cooling doesn't require an upgrade, i'm still going to upgrade it. i'm finding issues with MAJOR heat soaking. also, after upgrading the cooling, i will be looking into a 82mm throttle body, as well as some other modifications. in the meantime, i am extremely happy with the time, because i know it is easily beaten with a little more practice.

my 60 feet time was 2.149 and if i get it down to 1.9 my 1/4 mile should be around 11.70-11.80. and viet, there are so many factors why other cars run so fast, but let me tell you, drag racing is not as simple as stepping on the gas pedal and flooring it. the slightest mistake, you lose your time. i'm sure if i have someone way more experienced than me, they can run a better time than i did. this is my first time out at a track, and i'm extremely happy. everyone was surprised with the time i hit.

one more thing, my mistake my time was actually 12.015!

What! 12 Flat! You're trucking on street tires and your trap definitely shows that, that 60 foot in the 1.8-1.9x range and you'll easily be in 11.7x, possibly a bit lower. The TB should help up top and cooling is so crucial for hard runs in the M113K engine especially back to back hotlap runs at the track or street. . Check out your IC pump and add an additional heat exchanger if you can.

If you don't mind Shango can you list your entire up to date mod list. I expect to see your name at the very top of fastest S55 on Dragtimes. It would be great to check out another dyno after getting the cooling mods and the TB, I still want to see if you're making more hp than torque. Your car is a monster!

I'm sure with a little bit more practice, and if i ever decide to bother spending money on drag radials, i can definitely hit 11.70 or even better. if you look at my 60 foot and my trap speed, it is very possible. and cooling is definitely beneficial because with these kinda engines you'd hate to have it sit there and heat soak before a run.

I'm most likely just going to get a Johnson IC pump and basically split the cooling. i don't think the extra heat exchanger is needed. If i want further cooling, i'm definitely going to get a rear reservoir going.

I don't mind at ALL telling you my set-up.

2005 s55 AMG
Power Chip Custom Dyno Tune
ASP 180mm Crank Pulley
Fedor Dezyn Shorty Headers
Upper and Lower Heat Spacers
3inch Straigh Pipe *Resonator Delete*
Lowering Links
94 Octane (24/7)

I'm running All Season Tires 18" Michellin Pilot Sports (275/45 and 235/45)

(Still to Come)
82mm Throttle Body
Intercooler or Rear Reservoir
New rims (Waiting for Tires "Ventus Evo12's")

Perhaps those Ventus since they are a summer tire will drop you down a tenth or so and give better launch. DRs is where it will be at though, keep us posted. I love hearing about the big beast S-Class shaking and baking on the strip and street.

I saw ShangoAshe's car run and I was very impressed with it's performance! It will easily be in the 11s with a little better 60'. And like was said, there are so many variables that come into play in drag racing, it really isn't as easy as it sounds to hit those big numbers. From my limited experience, 2.3-2.4 60' times seem to be the norm for your average weekend warrior. It's not until you start getting 1.7-1.9 60's where you really start to see what a car is capable of doing. That's easily a difference of 1 second or more in your E.T.s. I still can only manage 2.3 60's, and my times are suffering from it!

But great run! That S55 is moving.

His 500rwtq (610ft-lbs crank) is nothing to overlook, but the car is in your signature is Roger Ver's S65 if I'm not mistaken, 720rwtq (880ft-lbs). Displacement + FI + Comfort =

thats crazy torque, but honestly speaking, even with 515wtq it already seems too much. a lot of people have seen me driving 60-70mph and traction control just comes on when i floor it. but non the less, crazy wtq!
