Question Biggest rear rim / tires supported on S65

What is the max width that can be supported w/o rubbing? 305s on 11 inch rim? 275s are the max on the E55. My S65 slides, i need more meat out back.

305`s from what I understand but will get a little rub on a big bump.. May be able to correct with custom offset.. those cars run those on 10`s but 11 may work better.

295/25/22 is the safest tire to run with out rub in the rear. A 22x11 is recommended as well

cool i think i will stick with the stock 20 inch size rims, so 295s would be best?

While we are on the subject, can someone answer the same question for the w220? Thanks.

P.S. I am really not interested in getting anything larger than 19" considering where I live...

275" 9.5... can you take a pics..

im not caculating anything... just saying from my experienced. which i have the specs on the my car currently (lowered)..

anyways.. back to the subject.. you can go as much as 275/285 like INfamous states i guess....

My opinion the bigger the tires, make the car look ugly...just get the right recommended size.. for stock height or lowered..

you might have to go down to a 18' so you can get a drag radial on it. I am throwing some 285/35/18 on my 600 because I am having serious tracking issues on some eagle f1's. Unless they now make a 20' drag radial?

I dont think I can fit 18's on mine because of the extra large brakes.

I would go with 19x8.5 w/ 245 40 and 19x10 w/ 275/285 35

How wide are you trying to go on the rear (rim wise) as well as in the front? Are you seeking a thick tire?

given the power this car puts out, my interest is to put the widest possible stickiest tire for street use.

I am relatively certain i can go to 255/40/19 and 285/35/19 on the back w/o any complications on the stock rims.

The question is what other options do I have (if any).

you only put the 18's on the back, they will clear the brakes. He was just talking about drag radials, I don't think anyone makes a good 19 drag that will fit. But you are swapping rear wheels for street use unless you want to replace your DR's a lot. And their cornering properties would be quite different from the fronts.

oooh, forgot that you actually can run smaller diameter wheels on the back LOL. thanks for bringing that up to my attention.

The options seem to stop there. The safest bet is running the 285 in the rear anything wider would run a risk of rubbing at extreme cornering and driving.18's might be the way to go

Are you sure??? First, do you know if the S65 and CL65 have same offset and fitment? I have 255/35-20 and 285/30-20 without any problems. I want to go to 295/35-20. Do you know for a fact this is a problem or is it just your thought. Appreciate any help on this matter. BTW, I own your wheels. Thanks.

TireRack is about 90 miles away from me and as soon as there are some non snow covered days I will drive out there to have the car measured up. I will post the results once I get them.
