S65: SpeeDriven tune by Broadway-Performance
Thought I'd give my 2cents on the latest SpeeDriven tune for a 2006 S65.
I've been dealing with tuning shops and modding cars for about 12yrs now and there's so many shady places out there - I really feel like everyone needs to hear about the customer service aspect of this too.
John @ Broadway tunes and modifies all types of cars: Mercedes, Lambo, Porsche, you name it. John took care of everything and I mean everything: Dropping me at the train station, co-ordinating all parts, etc and the stunner...delivering the car to me on a friggin Sunday!
I also wanted to integrate my iPod / iPhone:
We initially got a Cartronics iPod integration kit and to quote John, "this thing sucks...I'm not putting it in...but don't worry, I already picked up a mObridge unit and I'll take care of sending the other one back"
I got the TCU done and ECU mod by way of Marcin's new flash loader. Turn around time was very quick. My IC pump was also on it's last leg so Marcin sent out a new one the next day.
Unfortunately, we couldn't get it on the dyno after the tune and new IC pump. I can tell you that the TCU mod seems to be worth every penny. Shifts are more aggressive (up and down shifts) and it keeps pulling, no hesitation as it shifts. Hard to get an idea of how the the ECU mod is doing, since a stock S65 will burn up the tires from a stop! But once it hooks - my butt dyno says the pull from 40ish - 100+ is much stronger. Hopefully will get to the track and dyno soon to confirm the monstrous amount of torque and HP the car is now making!
Bottomline, TCU is a no-brainer and I'm still getting use to the new ECU tune -but I'm happy with my dealing with SpeeDriven and Broadway-Performance. Plus, the flash loader gives allows for a valet mode tune among many others if I choose in the future.
Ok, it's a nice day...I'm going for a drive
Thanks again to Marcin for all the time spent, Marko for answering a bunch of my questions and John for setting the bar for shops here in the North East...

Sound VEEERY nice, this ECU/TCU from speedriven!
I kinda made my mind up already before this thread, and now, I'm 100% convinced..!
But I have some questions, if that's OK with you;
Did you take your car there? (You wrote something about him dropping you of at the train station...)And since I live in Sweden, that's pretty much out of the question.
What do you think of getting it done without the car there?
Do you know of any mods that has to be done with the specific car, once it's installed..?
Or is it just as good idea, to just send the boxes to them..?
Thanks.

sure...no problem.
I actually took my car to a local shop in NJ...everything was done remotely. I'm almost positive the TCU still has to physically goto SpeeDriven. You can have that shipped back and forth. However, if you get the new flash loader...once they send you that - the tune can be flashed to your ECU while everything's still in Sweden
No other mods have to be done to the car...Marcin's real easy to work with and turn around is quick!

Giggle, John never sent anything back, as we do the Mobridge.... It's the same hardware that they rebrand.
Just an FYI - a little jealousy as he is a Mobridge dealer instead of a Cartronics dealer. Glad it worked for you in the end.

I just bought ECU/hand held programmer and TCU from these guys. They are shipping it out today and I hope it is in NH by the end of the week. I will post results.

How much are the ECU/TCU mods?
Does the TCU upgrade make the car go into vette mode all the time? I would like the car to down shift better but not sure if I want to be driving like a maniac all the time (my ECU mod made the car feel like a vette as opposed to a benz).
