K&N vs. BMC filters for 08 S65 or CL65

K&N vs. BMC filters for 08 S65 or CL65
Does anyone have any experience with which aftermarket air filters would offer better performance gains for the twin turbo V12's. I know the gains are minimal, but would prefer to get the better of the two - Thanks

Note: The BMC's do cost more, and I really like the k/n's better ONLY because I have almost 30 years of enjoyment with them and NEVER ANY issues.

I had the BMC filters. They are normally twice as expensive as the K&N's. The BMCs were a little flimsy on the rubbery frame. The K&N's appear to have a support to add some strength to the frame (see link below).

The BMC's were a bit of a pain to make sure the rubbery frame was exactly in place when putting the air box lids back on. I say, give the K&N's a shot.

I tried K&N's in my S55, and did not really notice much of a difference in either performance or engine noise. If there was any, it was miniscule. Due to that, I went back to the stock air filters - since I figured I might as well play it safe if I'm not noticing any gains!

2017 CLS 63S AMG,ECU/TCU Tuned,BMC Filters,EXHAUST, COLD PLUGS, INTERCOOLERS ETC...
BMC & K&N
Ran K&N's in my S55 for over 50,000 miles with absolutely NO ISSUES what so ever. Just switched to BMC's with a TUNE and do notice a hint 
of sound now when the tb opens.
May also be in my head 
but it seems more responsive
