Speeding Tickets and AMG Cars
Do you find it that you are getting more, less or same number of citations for speeding in your AMG cars vs. other cars?
In my case, on average I get a speeding ticket every 2.5 years, always on a clear, sunny day with moderate traffic on highways. My last one was in July 2010, no radar, no laser, no pacing, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer just assumed I was speeding because I passed a few cars, I felt like the AMG logo on the car instigated it.

I've never gotten a ticket when I'm having "fun" with the car, just when I'm just cruising at 80mph and they zap me!
Obviously since AMG's have more power you can go faster in less time, but in my case most of my tickets are for normal cruising at 80 or so, probably get one every 2 years or something like that.

). It is easy to get into triple digits but getting caught doing that is "go directly to jail" time. Cali may be different but the great thing about AMG's is that they are sleepers so most cops don't pay attention to them. When you do pass, it's almost as if traffic is standing still and I think that what gets us.
Sound can play a part in getting a ticket, too - AMG's have a great exhaust note when you open it up, but when you are just cruising they are as quiet as any other Mercedes - I think if you drove around in a sports car with loud exhaust that goes crazy at the slightest touch, it can definitely draw more attention from a nearby officer.

Officer's words to me after I had pulled over and put the keys up on the dash to show I was one of the nice guys, just late for a meeting,
"Hmmm...100+ MPH. Would you like the civil infraction or the criminal?"
Btw, fast cars with tinted windows...CHPs just LOVE to bust those guys(front windows are not allowed to be hinted in CA).

Three units up front (two in the grill, one by the plate) and one in the rear. Legal in most states. For now.
Being a rather experienced speeding ticket receiver, it is obvious that cops have a much higher propensity to issue tickets to higher end cars, they assume the car is capable, driver can afford it, he/she will pay instead of fighting it.

Since I'm mostly a night rider, all of my tickets have come in the middle of the night around 12-1am.

I remember in the first few weeks of getting the car, I accidentally passed a speeding cop car because it didn't feel like I was going anywhere need speed limit (has happened a few times).
