If you have to ask, you can't afford it. ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Seriously, when you're rolling around in a house payment, what's a few thousand dollars more or less on the price? If you *really* cared about the best deal you'd snag a CPO 2009 and save about 20 large.
Just some perspective from the cheap seats. Got to keep it real, yo.

2011 will definitely have better residuals and more attractive MF so even with higher MSRP your actual payment (especially for 39 months) is not going to be that much higher.

I was just wondering. I personally don't really want the car but i want the car. Thats where i am at. And if the price is attractive enough i would get the car. So therefore i am simply asking if you think is a bad deal for a 2010 s63.
So what do you guys think 128k is alright?
I did order a 2011 cl63 with Performance package that I am getting for sure. Thats coming in nov/dec period was told yesturday by the dealer.

Honestly that's a lot of money for the 2010 S63 which will be sort of overshadowed by the new TT engine. A low-miles 2008 S63 AMG seems to be in the 80's to 90's, that's 40k to 50k cheaper than a new 2010, for virtually the same car minus the facelift...that's a big chunk of change for minor details, and if you are getting a CL63 that's 2011, the 2010 S63 seems less special.
You can get a lot of nice cars for 128k. New or slightly used. Have you looked at anything else? The S63 is fast, but a heavy car so it isn't really anything groundbreaking - but the new TT should be a better performer and closer to the S65.

So you've ordered an '11 CL63 and are sitting on the fence about whether to get an S63 as well? Why even bother with the S Class?

Why bother with the S class.? I like the facelift look of the s class and also we need a sedan in the house we are a family of 5 so we need more cars. I figured if i do get the 2010 s63 amg this body would stay for another 2-3 years i am guessing before a complete body change.
I also did check into other sedans, BMW 750/760 didnt interest me much and my family isnt a big bmw fan. Then i looked into the new audi a8s didnt interest me much either the LEDs are cool and all but it doesnt have elegance like the s class. So therefore I got the s63 2010 blk blk bought it from keyes european. Brought it home today will take some pics and post it.
I also do have the new 2011 cl63 TT on order so that be coming in soon hopefully!!!! I know is lame or retarded to have 2 of the almost same car but oh wells.

If you could wait till they have the incentives maybe next month or Nov i think you could get 20%-25% off the the car, your payment for 48 mos should be around $1,800-$1,900 w/ 5k down. The car with the discount should be around 110k, then you'll be in position to get the 2011 S63 when it comes out because you are not upside down on the 2010 if this make sense to you.
Last year the discounts for s63 and cl63 were about 30k, i'm betting on them doing the same thing, two benz dealers told me when the 2011 S63 comes in they will be giving the incentives on the 2010's to move them out.
If you could afford the $2.3k payment just forget what I just said and go for it now!! AND start driving!!

Yo Yo, there are two issues here that you need to consider. One is the purchase price, and the $14k off MSRP is not a terrific deal on a 2010 S63. Four months ago it was decent, but with the new 5.5 engine arriving in just over a month, with up to 570hp with the sports package, the "trunk money" these dealers will get on the 2010 S63's is going to be crazy. Just over a year ago, I was offered a new S63 for $40k off MSRP. It's all about timing, and when MB Corp has too many cars sitting that they know they won't sell, they give out some crazy incentives. So, I would tell your dealer to keep your name/number, and call you when they announce a new trunk money incentive. I wouldn't begin to consider a 2010 S63 until it's at least $25k off MSRP.
Second issue is the lease price, which has far less to do with purchase price than you would ever imagine. It's all about money factor (the interest rate) and residual (value of the car when you trade it in). It is entirely possible to lease a $150k car for a lower down payment and monthly cost than a $110k car. That sounds impossible and counterintuitive, but that's the truth of how much difference these two values can make. If you're considering leasing the S63, you need to find the perfect storm of discount off MSRP, low money factor, and high residual. Corporate determines the money factor and residual, and there are times when MB Corp. will bump up the residual value to incentivise lease deals. I believe right now the 3 year residual on a 10k miles/year lease on a S63 is in the 46% ballpark. That means you're paying in your lease, 54% of the value of the car over 3 years.
Unless there is a business write-off (which is much more difficult to get away with these days), you may want to consider a purchase if the discount off the MSRP is right. It's just an option. You can get 2.9% financing for 60 months right now, and that'll probably trump any lease deal when you look at cost of ownership over the 3 year period of your lease. It's all about cost of ownership. When people say I have a $140k car, I laugh. My car's value is what my cost of ownership is, not the sticker price. My car cost me slighly more than my mother's Audi Allroad, when I look at cost of ownership over 3 years.
Just some things to consider. Best course of action is to have a very open dialogue with a sales rep that you trust. If they are well schooled, and they contact you when the deal is right, there's no better plan of attack.

Personally, I am not sure why you got the S63, as it seems that money is no object, and leasing an 'old stock' car that instantly took about a $30,000 hit the day you picked it up boggles my mind when you could have simply leased a CPO car of the same year for significantly less. But, that is just me. If you are looking to grab some more old stock cars, my local dealer has a black SL Black Series that a guy walked away from a year ago that is brand new and has been sitting in their showroom ever since. It is amazing.
