2006 S55-Curb Weight ?

Buried waaay at the bottom of an MB dealer's description it says curb weight-4,300 lbs. Does that sound right ? If so, they're lighter than I thought. On a separate note, do these things have any kind of limited slip/posi ?

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
That's because

curb is just the car, fluids and fuel.
GVW located on your door tag reflects loaded with cargo and passengers.
A lot of weight to say the least.

4300-4400 is pretty typical for the S55 depending on options... and yes, they all have limited Slip.

Mike,

They all have ESP,traction/stability control. The only AMG model, other than those equipped with the performance package, that had a limited slip diffreential was/is the SL65.

The P30 or the performance package has 2 piece rotors, stiffer suspension, higher speed limit plus the limited slip diff. There are also some cosmetic changes---wheels bumper, etc.

Just FYI, the experts say for every 100 lbs. in weight reduction, you can expect 0.12 seconds shaved off of your 1/4 mile.

100 lbs. in weight reduction is somewhat possible by removing spare tire, jack and any other unnecessary items from the car. Beyond that is a challenge since you don't want to take seats out, etc.

Yeah, they are pretty light for the amount of car you get. It's funny, because my Allroad 4.2 weighs about 100lbs more. People cannot imagine that the S55 is lighter. They also share a lot of common parts, but that's beside the point.

2006 S55 AMG
Old thread, I know, but I found it searching for weight info. My 2006 S55 weighs 4600lbs with me in it (I'm 200lb) I'm contemplating replacing the front seats with nice heated Corbeau reclining suspension seats. I'm mainly considering this because my seats only have about 20 percent of their original functionality. The heater barely even works anymore. The Corbeau seats only weigh 28 lbs each, which I'm guessing is a bit lighter. Anyone know how much the stock S55 seats weigh?
