Meziere IC pump install and review

Gents -

Well after replacing 24 plug, a coil pack and a new fuel pump...I went to the track and logged 165F - 195F (maybe 200F) - you can imagine how upset I was after the car ran like a dog. At least there was a reason - those temps are ridiculous. My 10 month old CM30 was dying.

Marcin was quick to reply to my txt's and after doing some research here, I figured I would go with the Meziere WP136S - why fool around, right?

Thanks to a post by Marcus Frost, I knew exactly what fittings to buy:
WP12034B x 2

Called up John Nouri at Broadway Performance and setup some time just yesterday morning.

Drove the S65 up and pulled right into the shop. We unpacked the new pump and I thought, "sweet Lord...this is not fitting". The Meziere is almost 7lbs and the CM30 is about 2.5lbs.

John fabbed up a sweet bracket and in no time had it mounted up! I was surprised that 1) it fit and 2) that it was able to be mounted vertically. Took out the CM30 and found space in the same general area to get it mounted.

I'll try to get John to jump in here at post some pics along with a proper description of what he did.

Then it was go time. John's in Passaic, NJ and I was en route to Stamford, CT. That meant stop and go traffic as well as open highway.

What I logged, IMO, was just awesome. Over the 45min drive (after driving from S NJ to Passaic) to Stamford, the highest IAT I saw was 118.4F - that was for ~2 seconds I would say the average IAT while stopped or in traffic was 103.21F (I took avg of all IAT when < 1500rpm).

Average IAT when driving (rpm > 1500rpm) was 91.43F <- 91deg's!!

Keep in mind this was over 40min's worth of logging and 29,000 rows of data.

Highest IAT: 118.4F
Lowest IAT: 73.5F
Average cruzing IAT: 91.43F
Average IAT when..well...getting on it (rpm >2500): 84.33F

Note: Ambiant temps were ~50deg and I also have a Speedriven remote mount IC tank.

Not sure about you guys...but I've never, ever seen IAT's that low on the TT V12. I'm sold on the pump and remote tank.

I'll get some pics up, but get ahold of John over at Broadway Performance if you're anywhere close by and he'll be able to get your car sorted out.

Great info Jay! I was just on MHP's site looking at this pump. Do you know what the normal IAT's should be on these cars? Also, give us a list of your mods if you will.

Yeah, I saw MHP listing it too...seems like a solid company and I know one of their cars here (JDavis I think?) just ran a 11.01! However, you can get this pump direct from Summit Racing for $195 + $45 for the fittings

Not sure what "normal" is - I used to see in the 130's in traffic and recovery was OK and I think 110F during a pull. I'll check some of my old logs today and post

My mods:
Speedriven ECU / TCU
Meziere Pump
Speedriven trunk mount IC tank
new air filters

I have heard some say the Meziere pump is pretty loud. Is that true? I use a Meziere water pump on my 70 cuda and it has worked great for years even driving on the street. But the car is so loud the pump is the least of my concerns.

This particular pump isn't loud at all, with the engine off and the ignition on and pump running you can hear if you're really listening for it at the front of the car. But once the car is on - nada - either outside the car or inside

Sounds like a good deal to me then. Looking at the quality of all the pumps out there none of them compare to the Meziere pump.

Hey quick question for you!

Any idea what kind of flow rate this particular pump is rated at?

Also, could you get those pictures of the mount?

Well, hard to say for certain...but based on the pic they have on their site, looks like they just put a MHP sticker on this pump and it's def a Meziere pump. Same fittings, fuse, plug etc that I got from summit racing.

John - post up some pics!

glad to see the Meziere worked for you, is the big resovior in the trunk the key? I went 0-2 with Meziere. was VERY disappointed in their product - one was DOA, the other died within 1 week.

I've logged a lot of data on IATs of my 65......here in Houston mine typically run about 120-130 cruising at highway speeds in the summer. They quickly will reach 190 + during a short blast of wot. IATs have always been an issue and make a massive difference on these cars as I've also logged them at the track and the difference between 80's and 160-190 huge.....I Need to go back and look to be exact, but want to say about .50 of a sec.

Is it necessary to fab up a bracket for the maziere? I'm not familiar with how the pump looks on the car from the factory. How difficult is the trunk mounted tank? This is something that I'm seriously going to consider......the fact that I live in Houston where ambient temps have been 100+ for 90% of the past 3 months.
