Sorry, guys don't kill me I have defected
After trying long and hard to find an SL55 that has been either converted or has satisfactory mods for the right price I decided to give up my search and get this baby

The new XKRs with the 5.0 SC motors are super quick.
The older ones like the 2007, not so much. I'd hold out for the newer version.
They handle well, have an all aluminum chassis and feel nimble and corner flat on quick transitions. And the stereo and Nav system is better than MBs. Add flat out gorgeous to the mix and you have a great GT car.
I took one from a dealer in Thousand Oaks on an extended test drive into the Santa Monica Mountains above Malibu and it was pretty convincing.
