04 S55 resonator delete?

I love the sound of the super charger but I would like to get a little more exhaust volume out the back. Has any done the resonator delete? I have searched youtube and I only find one video but its crappy and you don't hear the idle. Are there any better videos out there?

Honestly Adam, if you are going to mod this S55.....check out what the W211 guys are doing. That area of this forum is always moving. Alot of knowledge over there. Do a search and you will find just about eanything you need to know. Good luck and welcome back to the addiction!

No i deleted the secondary cats and the resonators, only thing i have is the primary cats and the mufflers. rest is straight pipes, the CL 55 mufflers are the same as ours anyway just the ones I got my hands on at the time.

I'm at work right now so I can't get access to YouTube but if you look up ShangoAshe as a username you'll see one of my oldest videos is a Resonator Delete on my s55.

Let me know if you need any help in regards to the s55 + modding.

oh wow, thanks for the compliment man! Don't worry I'm sure it'll look sick on those 20's! were you able to find my old video to hear the exhaust with only resonator delete?

One more suggestion is to go search for "ssonss1" on Youtube. He's a member on the forum and if you look for his videos on Youtube you'll see my s55 there. You can hear all the hell it brings down now with not cats, longtubes, straight pipe to mufflers!

I did the resonator delete on my 06 S55 as I thought it was too quiet on the inside. Car got noticeably louder on the inside, but decent. On the outside it was loud like a muslcecar, but still decently tuned. I think it does get tinny on WOT, but who cares? I searched around for aftermarket cat back systems and there is virtually nothing available for this car unless you want to put 4-5k down on something you may not like the sound of.

Forgot to add that idle is quiet, when revving up in neutral it isn't very loud, but has a low growl to it. Under load - watch out! My brother drove it about 150 feet away on light/med throttle and it sounded like a muslecar, it turned my head and it sounded great.

Sorry, no I don't have a video yet. For $80-100, it is well worth the mod. If you don't like it you can reverse it.

Hey shango, love your car. I want my 55 to sound like that. After watching your bid I deleted my resonators and rear cats yesterday, it sounds pretty good, but want more. So you removed your front Cats as well?? Aren't you going to have problems with smog? And did you stick with your stock muffler or did you get an after market one. Lobe your Car! I'm trying to replicate it lol

That's not bad I've got to get a vid up. I did do the secondary cats and resonators, still not loud enough going to get like a free flowing muffler and weld stock tips on I would
Take out front cats but the car would throw code not to mention smog.

hey, guys. I am new here, and wanted to get some advice. I have a white 05 S55 AMG, and I want a louder sound without breaking my bank, so I was thinking of deleting the exhaust resonator. Is there any way I can do this myself? Or am I required to take it to a shop?
(Also, if anyone has any advice on exterior mods, Im all ears to opinios )

its much easier to take it to an exhaust shop, the shop only charged me $120.00 to cut and replace the resonators with a straight pipe.
