ABC fluid flush performed today

Hi,
I just did a ABC full fluid flush during STAR rodeo but when I reversed the car back afterwards, I had fresh hydraulic fluid on the garage floor close to the front of where the engine was. Suspension still works fine, car drives good, and it seems to have stopped leaking, will check in a few hours.
What did you end up replacing on yours when it failed after your rodeo test?

Can anyone explain the amount of fluid on the floor afterwards? I didn't spill during the refresh of fluid.

For those of you who are interested I used two filters and 11 quarts of ABC fluid.
Procedure was this:
Remove all existing fluid from the reservoir with a turkey baster.
Fill-up the reservoir with fresh fluid, and leave the top open to fill in a moment.
Removed the return rubber hose from the cap assembly and join a 1/2 inch ID hose to it, long enough to go into a large drain bucket.
Get all cans of fluid prepared - unscrew the tops and pull-out the built-in spout long in each can.
Start car and do the rodeo with STAR.
Every time the car height moves an amount of original oil will drain into the bucket and the fluid in the reservoir will go down slightly. Keep the reservoir topped up as it depletes. The fluid from the cans of ABC comes out really slowly so with its upside down, punch a small hole in the can bottom and it will flow much faster.
(be careful now, as when you are done, lay the cans on there sides since you have a hole in the bottom).
Once the return fluid becomes green and almost as clear as the new fluid stop the Rodeo and turn the car off.
Install the first new filter and reassemble the return hose and screw down and seal the system.
Restart rodeo and run twice (15 mins each).
Replace the filter with a new one and top up the level if required.
Thats it.

OK so what's happening to mine? What is causing the fluid on the floor?

Is it possible you topped off the ABC reservoir with ABC system 'loaded'; meaning with the car up as opposed to low? Just a thought. Like transmission fluid, we should put in the same volume as we take out.
Cheers,
Jeff

Sounds like you put too much fluid into the tank and when the system depressurizes the excess spills through the cap.

I agree with this since it happened to me a few years ago as well.

What pressures were you seeing at the beginning and end of the rodeo procedure? I was very surprised how much mine dropped off throughout the test.

hum... I don't know as I didn't bother to observe changes in the pressure from the STAR screen during Rodeo. Obviously that would have been the more technical thing to do and will do if there is a next time.

As for spilling over from the cap; The reservoir bottle, cap, and dip stick is still all clean and dry. Surely I would have seen some evidence of a spill-over. Oh well, so far no loss in reservoir level, no drips under the car since the event. I do need to get under and take a look and will report back. Thank you everyone.

So, how is it working now? If you were loosing fluid, you would know it quick. Code would also come up quick. How long have you had STAR now?

It's working great. I have not seen a single drop, or vapor of fluid leaking since the event (touch wood). Ready to re-install my belly pans back. I am still not sure if there is a over-pressure vent in the system.
I have had STAR DAS for several months. Know my way around pretty well now. Only screwed up once a while ago and wiped my ECU - thank goodness for Jerry at Euroacharged.com - also got a much better tune than Kleemann, Car is much more fun to drive.

Hey I'm looking to buy a STAR System, don't know which one to buy, if you would please PM me the system you bought so I can perform my own RODEO test at home? Also, can it program SAMS?
