can a S55 TCU be swapped into an S600?
Just drove an S55 and man what an astronomical difference that "Manual" mode and programming make in improving the chassis control and thereby the enTIRE driving experience.
That setup in my 600 would utterly transform the car.
Back in my Audi daze, they came out w/ a "Sport" TCU for the 2nd year //S8 which could be easily retro'd into the 1st year cars (plug & play)...
...think the same might hold true from 55 to 600??? It's the same trans yes? 722.6 or some crap.
That would simply be EPIC - exactly what the car needs.
Any insight appreciated, TIA...

That gets rid of the crappy downshifting the current programming offers?
figures... I had the TCU purchased when I got the Eurocharged ECU, but nix'd the sale last min after 2nd guessing the benefits. Dumbass I guess.
The upshift speed isn't as much a concern as is the downshiftability... downshifting right now is barely acceptable. In some cases it's outright offensive.
Tell me that's cured w/ the TCU tune? 8-)
thanks for the thoughts

hoping that nets same result as what I felt in a recent S55 testdrive - wow what a transformation of the car's enTIRE character!

Give Jerry a call at Eurocharged Performance here in Houston. One of the best tuners around in my opinion and clearly that of others based on the number and type of exotic rigs that he gets to tune. He did my S55 Kleemann and totally transformed the car.
His number is 281 206 0076

thanks jnash... that's exactly what the post prior to your reply was referring to 8-)
I proceeded w/ my TCU order which was made w/ my ECU order in Nov but I'd suspended until now for a few reasons.
Appreciate the feedback, looking forward to the results - will report back in a week or so...

Not sure about the eurocharged guys but here is my experience and why I would choose Marcin at speeddriven...
1.always there to talk and offered me updates freely
2.Badass software ECU/TCU tune is awesome on my S65
3.After 2 months of having his software loaded I wrecked my CL600. I just swapped the TCU and he took back my flasher, unlocked it, and helped me get the software loaded on my new ride <--- refused to take a dime. Not saying he will do that for everyone or for that matter anyone else, but that's customer service man.
4.He will send you a tradable TCU BEFORE you send him yours. ie. no down time

Well fellas, I hate to **** on your picknick, but the 55 and the 600 and the
65 are all auto, and can never be manual, but I know what you mean.
Heh Sgt Schulz don't you ever use the stick to change gear, I often do when I know kickdown wont necessarily change down to the gear I want , in fact
I prefer the stick when you are cornering.

um, you're not pissing on my picnic... I'm well aware of the design limitations of this setup
I do use the shifter quite often - prefer to be able to gear the car down into the road and maintain chassis control with gearing / pre-load
TCU gets sent to Eurocharged tomorrow, I'm giddy...

my head round is the tcu having anything to do with gearchange. I bow
to your superior knowledge on such matters. As I said if I am having some fun
I go for the stick, so many times I have gone for kickdown and nothing has
happened, would this tcu change improve this.
