Does anyone have this piece?
Hello S55 owners. I'm have the 2 door brother of your cars, W215 CL.
Anyway, why I'm posting. I saw this on an S55 from Germany:

It's the rear screen connected to the center console armrest...![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
It looks factory/OEM.
Does anyone on here have this piece? Know what it does/controls? Looks very interesting, I have never seen this an any S Class (W220) before.

What exactly are you asking about, the screen or the bit that attaches the screen to the armrest???
Either way, both are factory/OEM and come as an extra option.
My S55 has the rear screen.
You see the little black button on the attachment part, just to the right of the screen, well theres another one on the other side of the screen as well and you push them to adjust the height of the screen. You can either have it in the middle as it is in the picture, or you can move all the way down to the floor or all the up pointing to the roof so its out of the way.
Hope that helps.

I was talking about the entire assembly, the screen and holder/arm. What does the rear screen control? What does the attachment part connect to and how the rear screen get power? Anyone have a part # for both of these pieces?

Here you go. Be aware this will only work on the 2004 and up since they have the MOST wiring and not the DB2. It is a pretty straight forward install but will require DAS coding.

STAR DAS is a diagnostic system used for mercedes. Any good indy shop and dealership should have it.

The rear entertainment systems like these were mostly installed on chauffeur driven cars.
The rear screen has its own separate remote control which allows all of the functions (radio, cd, dvd, TV) etc etc from the rear so you can listen or watch what ever you want from the back without having to ask your driver to do anything.
On mine if i switch it ON from the front and im listening to a CD, the rear screen will come on when someone in the back presses the ON button on the rear screen. However, if its all switched OFF and someone presses the ON button on the rear screen it will power up the entire system (rear screen and the front unit aswell) and allow the rear passenger to control everything via remote.
The screen is attached to the arm via a rotating ball mechanism which allows it to be pointed up, down, left or right. The arm itself is attached to the sides of the front arm rest via 2 wheels which allow the whole assembly to go up or down. You can see one of the wheels just next to the seat in your picture. This is also where the power comes in from to the rear screen.
